MASSABESIC HIGH SCHOOL
2023-2024
Week of Tuesday, May 28 - Friday, May 31, 2024
RSU 57 & Massabesic High School
"Preparing students for success in an ever-changing world."
Hello Mustang Nation,
As we head into the extended weekend I encourage us all to take a few moments to reflect on the true purpose of Memorial Day and remember the sacrifices of those in our Armed Forces who have given their lives in defense and support of our country.
For those keeping track we have 12 school days left for our underclassmen, and 5 days left for our Seniors! We have many fun and exciting events for our Seniors happening over the next two weeks (linked below in this newsletter) as a way of celebrating their tremendous achievements. Thursday, May 30 is the last day for Late Buses running this school year.
Finally, it is important to commend our student population for working hard throughout the school year. We are so close to the freedom and relaxation of the Summer months, and it is important to continue to put forth solid effort right up until the end. When we arrive at Wednesday, June 12 we can all be proud of our efforts and accomplishments, which will set the stage for a solid start to the 2024-2025 school year (it is closer than you think)!
Take care,
-Mr. Thurlow
Senior Prank 2024 - A Job WELL DONE!
A special thank you to the Class of 2024 for their incredible creativity and spirit during this year's Senior Prank. Classrooms moved outside, underclassmen forced to find another space to park, slip 'n slide on the front lawn, pancakes and cornhole in the student parking, balloons literally filling my office, and so much more. I have seen many years of pranks in my time in administration and I must admit that THE CLASS OF 2024 IS MOST DEFINITELY AT THE TOP OF THAT LIST. Congratulations to this class, and best of luck to the Class of 2025 - hopefully they were taking notes!
Senior Send-Off Assembly!
The final send-off for our Graduating Class of 2024 will take place on Monday, June 3. This is an opportunity for our underclassmen and staff to say their final goodbyes to our graduates before they walk across the stage on Thursday, June 6. The Student Council is hosting this assembly and has plans for games, recognition, pie-in-the-face, and a final Senior walk.
First Annual Senior Signing Day
The MHS First Annual Senior Signing Day was held recently on Friday, May 17. As many of you may know, Signing Days are an opportunity for students to sign a letter of intent about their future plans. This event was held for all Seniors, whether they are planning on attending college, joining the military, entering the workforce, taking a gap year, or any other plans. The purpose of the Signing Day event is to honor all Seniors regardless of their future plans, and recognizes the validity of all post-high school options. A special thank-you to Mr. Estes, Mrs. Gribbin, & Poulin for coordinating the event. Please enjoy the slideshow included below:
