We are pleased to announce that Edgecombe County Public Schools will offer a virtual learning option for the 2025-2026 school year. This opportunity is designed for students who are capable of working independently and managing their time effectively. Students enrolled in the virtual program will engage in coursework through Imagine Learning (Edgenuity) and North Carolina Virtual Public School (NCVPS). These platforms offer rigorous, standards-based instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. The application window is now open and will remain available until Friday, May 30th at 5:00 p.m. Please note that enrollment is limited and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. It’s important to understand that completion of the application does not guarantee acceptance into the virtual program. All applications will be carefully reviewed to ensure that the virtual learning environment will support the student’s success. Families will be notified of their student's acceptance status by mid-June. We look forward to providing a flexible and engaging learning option for students who thrive in a virtual setting. This short survey will help us better understand how technology is supporting student learning — and identify any family needs for internet access and devices at home. The survey takes just a few minutes to complete. Your input directly impacts future technology and infrastructure decisions.

FREE Summer Camp STEM Opportunity through NC State! This fully funded opportunity allows students a residential college experience for the week of July 20-25. Please find the call for applications (https://forms.office.com/r/pHJDrATrF0) to attend the 2nd ECSU Summer Youth Marine Science Camp, being held at the Trinity Center in Pine Knoll Shores, NC July 28-31, 2025. The opportunity is 100% free to attend and participate. Those selected, are expected to participate in follow up activities surrounding submitting a regional science fair submission. Details are attached in the flyer and on a link in the application form.

• Students are entering school with their midriffs showing. This is against dress code. Please make sure your students are following uniform policy.
• Students and their headphones have led to many disruptions of the learning environment. Please remind students that headphones should not be worn during class. It is best they are left at home or in their book bags.
• Consider following us on Facebook to stay up to date on student and school news!
• You should have received information regarding how to sign up for Rooms. This is the platform for messaging with teachers. Please reach out to your child's teachers if you do not have this information.
• Infinite Campus Parent Portal is now available. Using this portal you can view your students' grades and attendance. To register for the portal, you must bring photo identification to the school to receive your personal registration code, linking you to your student. Office hours are 7:30am-4:00pm each day.
• Please make note of our Uniform Policy below. School tshirts are sold daily. T-shirts are $12 and hoodies are $25.

• Our school, specific calendar, including academic and sporting events, can be found here. Consider downloading the ECPS app to easily access this calendar any time.

• The tardy bell rings at 8:05am. Please make sure your student is in the building by 8:05am. Students not in class by 8:05am will receive tardy documentation.
• 11:40am is the halfway point in the school day. If your student checks in after this time or checks out before this time, he/she will be counted absent for the entire day.
• All students must be in uniform daily. See the image above for uniform expectations. Students cannot tie their shirt up in the back to expose their back and/or skin. No midriffs are allowed to be seen when sitting or standing. Students will receive discipline consequences moving forward for this.
