Welcome Back
A warm welcome back and a very happy new year to you all! I hope you've had a wonderful festive season and are feeling refreshed and ready for the exciting term ahead.
It's been absolutely delightful to see our pupils return to school with such enthusiasm and positivity. Their eagerness to learn and engage with their studies has been truly inspiring, and it fills me with pride to see how well they've settled back into their routines. The buzz of excitement and chatter in the corridors is a testament to their joy in reconnecting with friends and teachers alike.
I'm thrilled to share some fantastic news about recent events and developments at our school. First and foremost, we had an incredible 55 children participate in the Young Voices concert. What an amazing opportunity for our pupils to be part of such a large-scale musical event! The experience of singing alongside thousands of other children is sure to have created lasting memories and fostered a love for music and performance.
As part of the PE curriculum, this term Years 1, 2, 3, and 5 will be having weekly yoga lessons with expert teacher Hannah. These sessions are designed to promote mindfulness, flexibility, and relaxation techniques that our pupils can use both in and out of school. It's wonderful to see our children embracing these practises with such enthusiasm and open-mindedness.
I'm also delighted to announce that after a long wait, our new boiler is finally up and running! The work, which began last summer, has now been completed, and we're reaping the benefits of our new ground-sourced heating system. This eco-friendly solution not only ensures a comfortable learning environment for our pupils but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
As we embark on this new term, I'm filled with optimism about the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead for our school community. The dedication of our staff, the support of our parents, and the enthusiasm of our pupils continue to make South Milford Primary School a vibrant and nurturing place of learning.
Here's to a term filled with growth, discovery, and achievement. Let's continue to work together to make this year our best yet!

Bags in Cloakrooms
When purchasing new school bags, please consider their size carefully. Our cloakroom space is limited, and children need to bring very little to school. A bag that can accommodate their PE kit should suffice for most needs.
Additionally, we kindly ask that all coats have hooks for easy hanging, and that all items are clearly labelled with your child's name. These small considerations greatly help in maintaining an organised and efficient school environment.
