October is in full swing, and we have a few upcoming notable events.
Tue 10/15 - PSATs for 10th and 11th, Programming for 9th, Late Arrival for 12th
Wed 10/23 - Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) - permission form in the counseling office
Wed 10/30 - Picture Retake Day
Fri 11/1 - Schools Closed

Mr. Gallo's Trip to Pitt
East English and Broadcasting teacher, Mr. Gallo, visited the University of Pittsburgh for a meeting with the College in High School program administrators. He also collaborated with other high school teachers in a session led by professor Kevin Smith. Mr. Gallo toured the Pitt Broadcasting Studios and their state of the art facility. He shared his experiences with his Broadcasting students and looks forward to a continued partnership with the university.
Senior Spotlight
Jimmy Helferty was invited as a presenter at Vanguard's Bring Your Child to Work Day event. His book "Money Moves: An Intro to Economics for Kids" is published (available on Amazon!) and helps teach kids how to be financially healthy. He delivered a 45-minute presentation covering topics like saving and spending, needs vs. wants. He incorporated fun games and activities. It was an awesome experience for Jimmy and his eager audience!
