Alice Vail Middle School
March 18, 2024
Dear Alice Vail Middle School Families,
Welcome back! We hope you had a wonderful and restful spring break filled with quality time with loved ones and plenty of rejuvenation. As we return to school, refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the academic year, we wanted to reach out and provide some important reminders and encouragement as we kick off the fourth quarter.
Testing season is upon us, and while it can sometimes feel daunting, it's also an opportunity for our students to showcase their growth and hard work throughout the year. Here are a few positive messages and tips to help support your child during this time:
1. Encourage a Positive Mindset: Remind your child that they are capable and resilient. Encourage them to approach testing with confidence and a positive attitude. Emphasize that their worth is not determined by test scores, but by their effort and perseverance.
2. Prioritize Self-Care: Encourage your child to get plenty of rest, eat nutritious meals, and engage in activities that help reduce stress. Taking breaks, going for walks, and practicing mindfulness can all contribute to a sense of well-being and readiness for testing.
3. Establish a Routine: Consistency is key, especially during testing season. Help your child establish a routine that includes designated study times, breaks, and relaxation activities. Having a structured schedule can help reduce anxiety and improve focus.
4. Stay Connected: Maintain open lines of communication with your child's teachers and school staff. Reach out if you have any questions or concerns about testing or your child's academic progress. We're here to support you every step of the way.
5. Celebrate Growth: Regardless of the outcome, celebrate your child's growth and achievements throughout the year. Acknowledge their efforts and hard work, and remind them that progress is more important than perfection.
As we embark on this final quarter together, let's continue to support and uplift one another as a Falcon family. Together, we can help our students succeed academically and emotionally, and finish the year strong.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Here's to a successful and rewarding fourth quarter!
With Falcon Pride,
