Weekly Update for Feb. 10 - 14, 25

Dear Families,
As we continue in the winter season, it’s important that your contact information in the Parent Portal is updated to receive any communications regarding school closures, school delays, or other school emergencies. Please add emergency contacts to your child’s profile also in case you are unable to pick up your child if school is closed early. This resource will help clarify the process to update your Parent Portal:
With this week being Valentine's Day and Truscott being in Loveland, I think it is important for you all to know how much our staff loves your children and family! As a team, we are grateful each day to be a part of such a caring community, where are students are able to learn academics in two languages, and also how to be good humans. Each day your children are challenged, supported and loved. Thank you for your partnership! Together, let's continue to make Truscott the very best, loving community for your children!!
All the best,

Truscott Talent Show
May 22nd in the afternoon
In the Truscott gym, parents are allowed to attend.
The talent show is open to all grades, we will have an informal “audition” to make sure all the acts are school appropriate. Please keep your performance to under 4 minutes. Students may sing, dance, do gymnastics, put on a short dramatic reading or play, it's really up to your student! This is voluntary and all students do not have to participate but if your student has a talent they would like to showcase please encourage them to start thinking and preparing something! If you have any questions please contact me, Sara McCallum, at sara.mccallum@tsd.org.

Get your 5 fruits and veggies today
• Raisins are made from grapes that have dried in the sun for two to three weeks. A quarter cup of raisins in your lunch can count as 1 of your 5 servings. • What color are carrots? Did you know that they can be purple, red, black and white? • Take a look at your fist. One serving size of fruit or veggies is the size of your fist, so it's different for each person. • Having fresh fruit or vegetables as a snack will help you stay full longer. They give you longer lasting energy than sugary and salty snacks. • Make a goal to try a new fruit or vegetable every week. You might find that you love kiwi or avocados. After you share one of these points, say, "Eat a rainbow of 5 fruits and veggies today!"
