📜 Act 20 Calendar Change Notice
Developments in Early Literacy: Understanding the Impact of Wisconsin Act 20
In our ongoing commitment to enhance educational outcomes and support our students’ success, it’s important to stay abreast of legislative changes that impact our teaching and learning environments. A significant development has arrived in the form of Wisconsin Act 20, a comprehensive legislative measure aimed at improving early literacy instruction, curriculum, and assessment across the state. This new act intends to bring about positive changes, especially for our kindergarten through third-grade students, and will likely necessitate a thoughtful adaptation of our elementary school calendar to meet its requirements.
Families, please read through the rest of this notice.
📱 Attendance Reminder
This is a reminder that students are expected to attend school every day. Our first bell rings at 8:35 a.m. The school day starts promptly at 8:45 a.m. If your student is not sitting at their seat, ready for the day at that time, they will be marked tardy. If your student will not be at school, please contact the main office prior to 9:00 a.m. to properly excuse the absence.
All pre-arranged absences should be reported to the main office by phone call, (715) 345-5418, or email (spionek@pointschools.net or jwalsh@pointschools.net).

Jefferson Elementary School-Wide Expectations
April 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians,
At Jefferson Elementary School we are reviewing our school-wide expectations. This includes individual classroom expectations, as well as our common school-wide practices. Establishing and practicing these expectations allows us to provide a positive school environment in which every member feels healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.
What are the school-wide expectations at Jefferson Elementary?
Our school expectations specifically address:
- Safety
- Ownership
- Attitude
- Respect
We have our school expectations posted throughout our school building. School staff have reviewed and defined these four categories of expectations with our students for all areas of the school (cafeteria, hallways, playground, etc.).
How can you be a partner in this effort?
It is our goal to connect with our families so that we can be strong partners in helping make our school a positive place for our children to learn and grow. We ask that you review the school-wide expectations with your child(ren) and encourage these behaviors in our community. Additional ways to be involved are: using clear expectations in your home, reminding and encouraging your child about the expectations before they leave each day, making sure that your child comes to school on time every day, as well as asking them about their day.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Molly Demrow
Principal, Jefferson Elementary
*Please be sure your student is at school on their testing days unless arrangements have been made with their teacher beforehand*
