25 April 2025
Hello Running Creek Families,
If your child is counting down the days, you're not alone—we have just 19 school days left in the 2024–2025 school year! Our last day of school is Thursday, May 22, with early dismissal at 12:00 PM. Every day still matters, and we’re focused on finishing the year strong. Go Jaguars!
We’re also gearing up for Teacher Appreciation Week during the week of May 5. We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team of educators and supportive parents—watch for more information soon on how you can join us in celebrating our amazing staff.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to ensure success for every student. Have a wonderful weekend!

Field Day is Coming!
We’re thrilled to announce that Field Day is just around the corner – mark your calendars for Friday, May 2nd! Get ready for a day packed with fun as all of our Field Day activities will kick off at 9:00 AM and continue until 2:30 PM. It’s going to be a fantastic time for our students!
We’ll take a break from the action for lunch from 11:20 AM to 12:00 PM, and the cafeteria will be providing sack lunches for students and volunteers – no need to pack a lunch that day! Stay tuned for more details, and let’s get ready for an amazing day! If you have any questions please reach out to me at: mwages@esdk12.org.
Best regards,
Madison Wages, PE Teacher
Lost and Found.....
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! If your child is missing a jacket, water bottle, lunchbox, or other item, please take a moment to check the Lost and Found located in the front hallway. We’ve collected quite a few items over the past few months, and we’d love to see them make their way back home. All unclaimed items will be donated on Monday, May 5, so be sure to stop by before then to see if anything belongs to your family. Thank you for helping us clear out the space and reunite these lost belongings with their rightful owners!
Title 1 Waiver
Schools that qualify for Title I funding but do not meet the 40% cut off to operate a schoolwide program may request a waiver. We intend to request a waiver so that Running Creek can use funds to enhance the entire educational program at the school. We believe that it will be more beneficial to utilize the funds to operate a schoolwide program that allows us to benefit all students, including those most at risk of not meeting academic standards, by improving the overall quality of classroom instruction and improving the academic performance of all students rather than just targeting funds to provide interventions and supports for a smaller group of students. Microwave and Cafeteria
A friendly reminder to families: we have one microwave available in the cafeteria, so we kindly ask that any food items brought from home require no more than one minute to heat. When items take longer, it can significantly cut into students' lunch time and leave them with very little time to eat. Also, please remember to pack a spoon or fork if your child’s lunch requires one, as we have a limited supply available. Thank you for helping us keep lunch running smoothly!
NEW Student/Kindergarten Registration 25-26 is OPEN.....
We’re excited to announce that NEW STUDENT/Kindergarten registration for the upcoming school year is now open! Secure your child’s spot at RCE by completing the registration process as soon as possible. Early registration helps us plan for the best possible learning experience for all students. CLICK HERE to complete registration today. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. We look forward to another fantastic year at RCE.
The registration window for RETURNING students will open on July 1st.
Drop Off and Pick Up of Students - BUS LOOP
For the safety and efficiency of our student drop-off and pick-up process, please do not use the bus loop for dropping off or picking up students. It is essential to keep this area clear so our buses have the necessary space for arrival and departure.
Also, we are grateful to Harvest Bible Church for graciously allowing us to use their parking lot for student drop-off and pick-up. To ensure safety and minimize disruptions, they ask that families use only the west entrance off Elbert Street when entering and exiting the parking lot and park on the south side. This precaution is necessary as children and adults are using their building throughout the day.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students and community safe. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the school office.
Please Help - Snack Donations needed......
As we strive to continue to provide a positive and nourishing environment for our students, we are excited to announce a snack donation drive. We kindly invite you to contribute by donating snacks that will be shared among the students. If you are interested in participating please consider donating items such as individually packaged snacks, granola bars, fruit snacks, or any other non-perishable school friendly snacks. Please send and/or bring snacks to the main office. We appreciate your support!
