FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
What a day we had for our Annual Walk-a-thon! We're thrilled to have raised over $20,000 this year thanks to your generosity and support! Not only that, but students had a great morning on Thursday walking and running laps supported by staff and family volunteers along the route. It was a truly special day, and a beautiful reminder of the wonderful things happening at Father Doyle School!
A reminder also that we officially launched our Friendzy character building program this week! The Catchphrase for the first unit is "We Need Each Other!" and the focus of the unit is creating a culture of building up, not tearing down. Throughout the week, students have been engaging in mini-lessons and activities around this theme from making #1 Fan signs to blindfolded buddy activities and more.
For more information, and to see how you can continue the Friendzy conversation at home with your student, please see the Friendzy Parent Newsletter here. I'll be sending home a Newsletter each month with the new theme and catchphrase, so stay tuned!
Lastly, speaking of creating a culture of building up, I would like to personally thank you for the many messages of congratulations and support I received after my wife and I welcomed our second child this past weekend. It is truly a privilege to be a member of this beautiful and vibrant school community!
