A Message From the Mountain
September 4th, 2024
Our sports season is officially up and running! Last night we had our first softball and baseball games. A big thank you to all who came out and supported our student athletes! If you would like to come to the next game, please see the schedule here.
DVUSD has a bond and override on the ballots for the upcoming election. These measures provide funding for facilities maintenance, athletics and arts, safety upgrades, staff salaries, full-day kindergarten, and much more. Please see the factual information included below for more details.
And, finally, we will be having our September Blackhawk Bonanza assembly on Friday. Feel free to join us as we get pumped up for our school day!
Respectfully,
Jessica Brunk, Principal

School-Based Counseling
We are fortunate to have a counselor from Southwest Behavioral on our campus two days a week, in addition to our K-6 school counselor. She performs school-based counseling, providing services to students during the school day. This is a convenience for families as they do not need to find time outside of work hours to fit in counseling. Our Southwest Behavioral counselor sets goals (academic, social, etc.) with the input of families and teachers to work on with students. She is able to service students with AHCCCS health insurance. If you think your child would benefit from someone to connect with on campus, please let Ms. Brunk know and she can help arrange communication.
One Way
Please be mindful of the portion of our school's driveway that has signage indicating not to enter. We have had parents going through that area and it is meant for one way only.
Kindergarten Color Spirit Weeks
Our kindergarteners are learning their colors and have asked that we join in! We will be wearing a different color each day to help the kindergarteners practice their colors. Students may wear a hat in the building during this time if it is the color of the day. Let's help the littles learn their colors!
