Staff Appreciation Week starts TOMORROW! Thank you to our amazing PTA for planning a great week for our RES staff. *see PTA section below for the schedule for each day and how you can celebrate a staff member! We thank you in advance!
TESTING STARTS THIS WEEK...
Students will test on their iPads and MUST bring a FULLY charged iPad to school
Testing will begin promptly at 8:15am; students arriving late may not be able to test, so please make sure your child is on time on the days of their tests. We will hold test sessions if there is a late bus. Students who are absent for a test will take it during a makeup test session.
Expedited Retakes are available for students who do not pass, but score a 375-399 on an SOL. In order to take the SOL again, parent permission is required. We encourage you (if you give permission) to fill this out just in case your child falls within this range.
We have split Math 5 and Math 6 between two days. Please see below for the new schedule.

PTA NEWS
The PTA has multiple events coming up and looking for volunteers!
- Thank you for all the support for our last Stock the Lounge event of the year! What a great way to show our appreciation!
- We are excited to kick off Teacher and Staff appreciation week on Monday May 6th. We have planned a full week of activities to show all staff members, from our teachers, our fabulous principal, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, janitorial staff, counselors, how much we appreciate them and the impact they have on our children every day. *If you would like to contribute to the gift cards for Take Out Thursday, please send your contributions to our Family Engagement Venmo account @RES-PTAfamily (last 4 on number if asked 6100). We will use these funds to provide ALL staff members with a gift card to the restaurant of their choice.” *Schedule for the week and QR code a are below
- We are looking for volunteers to cover teachers' lunches on May 10th! - The Kindergarten/Pre-K classes are performing "Baby Beluga" on May 9th! The PTA is hosting a raffle for front row seats. There will be 3 winners, each winning a pair of seats in the front row. Baby Beluga Front Row Experience | Givebacks (memberhub.gives). Last day to purchase a ticket is today (5/5), with the live drawing happening during school hours 5/6!
- On Tuesday, May 28th (Day after Memorial Day weekend), the PTA & RES will be hosting an event called "Once a Roadrunner, Always a Roadrunner" as a special way for us to give a fun send-off to our Roadrunners who are rezoning to Goochland Elementary School.
