Brian Buffington will be bringing his uniquely crafted and experiential professional learning to Metro RESA for the 2024-2025 school year. Coined at “Buff Nuggets”, these full-day events highlight his love of student-centered creativity, engagement strategies, and innovation w/ AI. Attendees will experience conference-like energy with engaging talks and demos, hands-on workshops, collaborative opportunities, and time for reflection and application. Brian is a former middle school science teacher and leader in educational technology, speaking at global events each year. After helping countless educators with his “Online Teaching Cheat Sheet” at the beginning of the pandemic, he was included in EdTech K-12 Magazine’s “Top 30 to Follow in 2021”.

Tuesday, September 10, 2024: Buff Nuggets: AI as a Teacher Assistant and Custom Content Creator: Session Canceled Due to Low Enrollment

• Description: Want to see students really take off and maximize their brain cells? Let’s get them using tech to CREATE, INNOVATE, and COLLABORATE. In this all-day, hands-on session, Brian Sir-Buff-A-Lot Buffington showcases his favorite student-centered creative activities using apps you already love! Attendees will be using Canva, Flip, Google Apps and other tools to showcase knowledge in new and fun ways such as: podcasting, animation creation, video storytelling, music making, and more!

Monday, January 13, 2025: Buff Nuggets: Using Tech to Engage and Inspire

• Description: If you’re looking to turn those blank student stares into something more positive, Brian’s sharing a 50 gallon drum of #BuffMagic that will do just that! From his experience teaching middle school science, delivering teacher PL across the globe, and performing his #happymusicforthemasses to whoever will listen, you’ll get fresh ideas and perspective on how to engage audiences of all ages. In this session, attendees will learn how to team up with tech to create engaging learning experiences through video, audio, micro-credentials, GIFs, gamification, AI, virtual field trips, and more!
