COACHING CORNER
Do you feel like your PLC is stuck in a rut? See below for an example on how to move your PLC from one stage to the next.
Stage 3
Let’s Plan
“What should we be teaching, and how can we lighten the load?”
Looks Like:
· Teachers begin teaching the same content at the same time
· Delegating responsibilities - lessons and work
· Focused more on planning and sharing than the results of it
· Focus mostly on teaching
What Next?
· Start bringing data to the table
· Start going through the formative assessment cycle
· Ask: Are students learning what we want them to learn? How do we know?

Jaguar Spawtlight: Angelina Wadas
Hello My name is Angelina, I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and teacher. I have a certificate in art and play Therapy and a degree in secondary math. I have had multiple careers since I graduated from high school. I was in the insurance business for 10 years, a therapist for 3 and I am finally fulfilling my dream as a teacher. John Adams is the first school I have had my own classroom, although I have been in the school system in many capacities over the last 8 years.
I have 3 children, my step-son is 19 in college at SIUE, my daughter is 18, a senior in high school completing PSEO at RCTC and my youngest daughter is 16 in high school at Century. If you have not seen the girls around here yet, I am sure you will. I am blessed that they love to hang out with me.
Our family moved to Rochester in January of 2019, we came from Southern Illinois where we lived for two years after leaving Colorado. My children were born and grew up in Colorado until my husband took a job promotion which started us on a track of moving with each step up..
When my husband decided to begin promoting within his career, I knew I needed a piece of paper to me in the schools in different states, so I took a break from being a para and went to work as an inventory manager to help pay for my degree. I finished my four year degree in two and started subbing in middle schools and high schools. I really liked this because I was able to see many different teaching styles besides the ones I saw being a para.
When we moved to Rochester I began working at the ALC while I got my MN teaching license. I began teaching here at John Adams in the 4th quarter last year and dove in with all I had. Although the year felt like a belly flop, this year has been wonderful so far!! I have loved living in Rochester and am super excited to be teaching a full year here at John Adams.
