PHYSICS FAIR & STEAM CAREER FAIR
Good luck to our physics students on Thursday (3/13)! The 28th annual fair will be help in the MAC. Students from all 13 physics classes work in groups of 3-4 to construct and debug a Rube-Goldberg-like chain reaction using components they built during first semester. Components include a mousetrap car, catapult, hovercraft, and a tracked robot. These components, along with several of their own choosing, are designed by the students to trigger other components on a 2' x 4' base with additional levels, and ultimately trigger the first component for the next group in their class. Physics Fair is a culminating event for the celebration of the topics of mechanics - Energy, Momentum, Forces, Newton's Laws of Motion, etc.
The STEAM Career Fair is from 11-2 PM in the MAC. Presenters include: Fedtech, Cummins, Boker's, Children's Minnesota, International Paper, Unisys Corporation, Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Park Dental, Construction Careers Foundation, Design Ready Controls and Medtronic.
