Weekly Wins!
Let's Celebrate Each Other!
Weekly Wins!
In this section of the update each week, we'll be highlighting the wins that our Vista Oaks students have experienced each week. Want to share a win? I'd love to hear about them, big and small! Please email megan.balderas@vistaoaks.net.
Win #7: Staff Professional Development
Last week we were able to provide professional development to our Parent Educators through the Homeschool Conference, and this week we spent our Wednesday morning in staff development. One of our big learnings has been that research shows that student success is optimal when being educated by a healthy minded educator. We are continuing our work with the Brilliance Project and the amazing Dr. Anderson, who many of you met at our kick-off this August. We definitely see this partnership as a BIG win!
How would Measure R impact Vista Oaks in Byron?
I've gotten this question a few times so I thought I would share some information here!
Measure R would benefit Byron School District. While we are not a part of their school district, they do authorize our Charter and we rent our Byron space from them. Of the plans they have for the Measure R, these are ones that will impact Vista Oaks's site:
- With the funds accrued from Measure R, Byron would replace the well that also provides water to our campus. This would improve the clarity of the water on our campus.
- The goal to add safety measures would include additional security cameras placed on our campus.
Feel free to click below on the link from Byron Union's website for more information.
Please bring your high school and 8th grade students with you to this workshop!

If you are on campus and need into the Oak room, we will let you in at the end of lunch. If you need to speak with one of us during closed times, you will find us out at the lunch tables.
Parking on Campus
Where do I park when I come on campus?
We are not allowed to park in the lots in front of our school as those are designated for the Byron District Office staff. However, there are two available disabled person parking spots available to us.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Where will I drop my children off for class?
This is a drop off or pick up loop that needs to be continuously moving.
You may drop your child off in front of the school for classes and services, but there is no parking allowed. This includes no parking in this lot , along the fence, or along the building. This lot is for the Byron District Office Staff, and they need to be able to get in and out of the lot at any time. Thanks for your help with this!
Please do not block the entrance to the Byron Office parking lot.
Please do not park along the ends of the fence as Byron Maintenance parks there.
