Pathway to Jesus

Pathway to Jesus got off to a great start. We have 296 students and 224 families this year at the school. Praise God for the opportunity to minister to all these students and their families. The photo above includes the 23 employees that work at the school. Despite the burdens, challenges, and trials that sometimes exist working in the field of education, they have a smile on their faces and strive to achieve the goals and vision of the school. What a blessing to have them on our staff!

The Progrentis program is up and running. We have been blessed above and beyond we could ask. Donations came in to help purchase the tablets, build the two storage carts, and restructure the network and internet at the school. Thank you to everyone that helped with that!

The iLead program we offer to our 4th-6th grade students provides them with an environment for leadership values to be introduced, practiced, and shared. The curriculum is made up of values-based roundtables designed by Dr. John C. Maxwell to allow the next generation of leaders to develop their values and leadership skills. Students are having great discussions about the different characteristics and values that need to be developed to grow into a great leader.

I was able to visit the school for a week in October. I praise God for keeping me healthy during that trip, as well as bringing me back and forth safely. It was a very busy week. I was able to help get all 296 students registered into the Dominican Education system. I was a part of two half-day meetings and training, one for our full staff and one for our admin team. I was also a part of 8 other meetings, including a Board meeting. I was even part of an earthquake drill, which was definitely different than how we do it here in the states. I praise God for allowing me to visit in person so I could pour into my staff and have the opportunity to be a part of all these things.

On Wednesday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m., all the schools in the Dominican Republic held a nationwide earthquake drill. Students had been prepared ahead of time by watching a video prepared by the Ministry of Education. Students and staff practiced what to do in case of an earthquake. Part of the activity was having a few staff members practice first aid skills on "injured" students. At the end of the drill, Alexandra, the director, talked with the students about what they did well and what needs to improve the next time they have the drill. Overall, they did a great job.

Fundraising has started for the new school year. We are looking to raise a total of $73,500 to cover the shortfall we will have throughout the year. Approximately $15,000 has already been raised. Praise God for that! This means we are still looking to raise another $58,000 by the end of July 2025.

She is currently living in the States so she can receive treatment for her Multiple Myeloma cancer but continues to work full-time in the ministry.
