A Letter from Dr. Siciliano
Dear JJHS Community,
I hope this message finds you well and excited about the start of the new school year.
As I shared with our students in a letter to them (on their Schoology accounts), please know everyone here at John Jay High School (JJHS) truly cares about them and are excited for their return. We all pledge to keep JJHS a place where students belong and succeed in all the ways that matter. We intend to do this by providing the best experiences for students and expecting their best efforts every day. We are here to help develop their curiosity, build their knowledge and skills, be available and present when they need our support, keep them all positively connected, and serve them well as trusted role models and guides in the safest and most affirming atmosphere we can provide.
As always, it is the school and the community working together that makes JJHS such a special place where students grow and thrive. Thank you for all your continuous support of the people and programs at JJHS and we look forward to connecting with you at all the numerous school events and other opportunities.
Please reach out to us if you ever have a question, concern, or any other useful feedback that would help improve the students’ experience. I look forward to celebrating our students’ successes and watching them grow throughout the year. It’s going to be another great journey together - let’s get started!
Best,
Steven T. Siciliano, Ed.D.
Principal, John Jay High School
Safety: Drills and Emergencies
This is a gentle reminder that to help maintain building safety and security, students are expected to show ID whenever they enter the building. If your child does not have their ID when entering the building they will be asked to sign in with the greeter when entering.
If your child leaves for lunch, or any other reason, they will have to show ID or sign in every time they reenter the building.
Evacuation Drill
The high school plans to have its first Evacuation (Fire) Drill the first week of school, weather permitting.
