Public Education Foundation Opportunities for Students
The Public Education Foundation has launched a new scholarship application platform for the 2025 application cycle!
You can now begin working on your general application, where you will upload your information and supporting documents and answer a series of questions to pair you with scholarships. These details will automatically populate in the individual scholarship opportunities you qualify forβthere is no need to re-upload! Individual scholarships will continue to be posted and our platform will alert you when new opportunities you qualify for are posted.

PEF Opportunities for the Hearing Impaired
There are several scholarships available for students with at least a 30% hearing loss.
The scholarships are put forward by The Las Vegas Scholarship Foundation.
- Richard Fait Memorial Scholarship 5 available for $2,000 for the year
- Walter V. Pinjuv Memorial Scholarship 3 available for $2,000 for the year
- Polis Family Scholarship 20 available for $800 for the year
Use the search features available within the PEF site and apply today. The PEF scholarships are updated weekly so keep checking for opportunities!

Senior Academic Planning Meetings
Our Coronado Seniors will be meeting one-on-one with their counselors starting the second week of January. These Senior Academic Planning meetings are important to ensure that our students are on track for graduation. Students will meet face-to-face with their counselors during English classes January 13 - 24 following the schedule below. If a student is absent or unable to meet on the assigned day, the counselor will call them up on a makeup day.

IT'S TIME TO SELECT ELECTIVES FOR NEXT YEAR!
The Google Elective Selection Form will be open until Friday, January 24, 2025.
Please use the QR Codes provided to access the Elective Selection Form for the grade you will be in next year.
Students will choose 6 electives (in order of preference).
Please choose 6 DIFFERENT electives β do not choose the same one twice.
NOTE: All elective selections are recorded through Google Forms.
1. Review the list of elective choice options on the Google Form.
2. You will be selecting 6 electives. Choose 6 DIFFERENT electives.
The prerequisites and course descriptions for every course are listed in the 25-26 Course Catalog which is linked in the Google Form.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact your counselor (see attached).
You have several weeks to do your research on these elective courses, talk to your teachers/parents, check the course catalog, and complete the Google Form.
*Students MUST be logged into their CCSD Google Account in order to access the Google Form*
The Google Elective Selection Form will close on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Students will meet with counselors to confirm elective choices in English classes in the spring. Counselors will be required to choose your courses for you if you do not complete the Google Form and attend your registration meeting.

REGISTER TODAY FOR ASVAB TESTING AT CORONADO!
Hello Students and Parents,
Take advantage of FREE ACT/SAT Test Prep! Take the ASVAB!!
Coronado will be hosting the ASVAB on Wednesday, February 12th. The ASVAB can be used for ACT/SAT and free practice testlets, career exploration, or military entrance. This test is optional and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
***JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES: Great ACT Prep for FREE!
Students need to arrive by 6:45 a.m. They will report to the cafeteria for testing. Students must bring their laptop or Chromebook fully charged, as this will be done electrically. If students do not have a school issued chromebook one may be provided.
Test Date: Wednesday, February 12, 2025
Location: Coronado Cafeteria
Time: 6:45 am- 9:45 am
Attendance will be excused following the event. Immediately following the completion of the assessment, score interpretation will be reviewed. Students will need to follow up with teachers to make up any missing assignments as they are still responsible for the work assigned the day of the test.
