Weekly Community Updates - December 6, 2024
Dear Students and Families,
We have our final dance of the semester tonight! We are looking forward to seeing students enjoy themselves. The dance starts at 6:30 pm and students can leave the dance without a call home at 8:00 pm. Please be sure to pick up your student at 10:00 pm which is the end of the dance. The campus will be completely locked up with no staff on campus by 10:20 pm.
We are approaching the end of the semester with only two weeks left. The final three days, December 18, 19 and 20 will be early days which means students will be released at 1:15 pm. As the end of the semester approaches, it is a great time to look at ParentVUE to review current student grades.

With finals and holidays just around the corner, feelings of overwhelm and stress may arise. During these moments, it is good to pause and take care of ourselves. Please see the resources above and below to aid in your wellness during this winter season.
Wednesdays: Restorative Attendance Tutorial
Oceana High School values student attendance. We stress the importance of being on time and prepared for a strong start. This means being in your seat with your materials ready at the specified time. Perfecting these skills now will prepare students for college and career. Students who experience ongoing struggles with attending any of their classes on time can expect to be supported by Oceana’s restorative attendance workshop. This workshop will be for one hour on Wednesdays after school. Students can expect to learn about the value of timeliness and have time to make up for any missed work. These will happen every Wednesday and will focus on students who have 3 or more tardies in the previous week. Doors open immediately after school on Wednesday at 1:15 pm in computer lab room 111. Students will not be admitted after 1:30 pm. Please contact Vice Principal Jose Campos if you have any questions.
