OCEAN High School Student of the Week
Jack Checkwood-Brazeal is the OCEAN Student of the week. Jack is a hard working student who gets along with everyone. When students had the opportunity to choose books to read for the semester, he compiled a long list of classics he wanted to tackle. When given an open-ended world history project, he decided to trace the roots of several genres of music from around the world. He is kind to everyone, and his sense of humor is much appreciated by all, students and teachers alike. Jack's sharp wit and curiosity about the world are true assets to our OCEAN learning community.

Bike Bus
The bike bus is up and running, and we are getting kids safely to and from school! We’ve had a few families that are super interested but to get the best out of this program, we really do want to have as many riders out there as possible. Spread the good word!
New route(s)
After a couple run-throughs, we have decided on a new route for pickup and dropoff. We’ve added a new stop (SWAN School), and we’ve shortened the ride to remove some of the more difficult sections. The dropoff route now starts at Salish Coast - the dropoff route is no longer the reverse of the pickup route. This change will take effect on the next ride (5/22).
Live Location Tracking - Never miss the bike bus again: we have added live location tracking! Parents can now see exactly where we are as we proceed along the route. Join the PT Bike Bus Whatsapp group to see where we are! We will also use this platform for making emergency announcements, for things like cancellations due to extreme weather.
Participation Bonus - Any student who goes from school to The ReCyclery will now earn $5 in used parts credit. We’ll also be giving out snacks, stickers, tools, and other cool surprises.
We’ve been having a blast so far this year, and we look forward to rounding out the year with more and more students.
