Students are screened and then tested into this program. Elementary students attend LEAP one day a week based on grade level (5th grade-Mondays; 4th grade-Tuesdays; 3rd grade-Wednesdays; 1st/2nd grade--Thursdays). Middle school students attend on a rotating schedule with their physical education class. Idea Center
The Idea Center has a new student vision!
Please share with your child and ask them what it means to them!
The Idea Center is a place where I learn about myself and others, use my brain, and be creative each day!
Co-pilots
The following students were recognized as co-pilots for the first three weeks of school. All students received a certificate and a co-pilot bracelet. Additionally, they will be entered into a drawing at the end of the month for a bigger prize or special activity. If you're interested in donating a gift card or prize ($10-$15 value) for our drawings, please let me know. The co-pilot program is open to all elementary Idea Center students (PEGS & LEAP)!
Robbie H.--Robbie is nominated by Aaron--He helped me by getting my lunchbox to the Idea Center after recess while I went to the nurse’s office. (9/13/24)
Rowynn L.--Rowen offered to play with a student at recess who was feeling left out. That was very kind of her! (9/11/24)
Andrew M.--Andrew stayed after the SEL lesson to clean up materials he used in class and then cleaned up another friend’s materials in class without being asked to which helped keep the classroom tidy. Way to be a helpful classmate Andrew! (9/4/24)
Food Reminder
District policy does not allow students to share food or bring in treats to share. If you'd like to bring in a treat for your child's classroom for a birthday or special event, pencils, stickers, or fidgets are always appreciated.
Idea Center T-shirts--Green and Gold on their way!
The t-shirts have been ordered and should be delivered in two weeks!
Toy Policy
Toys are only to be brought to the Idea Center with teacher permission. If you child brings a toy to school, we will generally ask them to keep it at the back of room or in the coat room. Students should NEVER bring valuable or very special items to school, as we cannot be responsible for them.
