Greetings Jacket Family!
Greetings, BHS parents and guardians! We hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe week with all of the inclement weather that came into our area!
We have a very exciting and busy stretch coming up here at BHS! We are 1/4th of the way finished with the spring semester! The spring semester is flying by! With that said, here are just a few important dates to keep in mind!
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held from 4:30 to 7:00 on Thursday, February 27th. Feel free to schedule a conference with one of your children's teachers. Drop-ins are also welcome!
- We will be hosting a USC-L information session with Dominique Waller for students and parents that are interested in pursuing dual enrollment either this summer or next school year. The target audience will be current 10th and 11th grade students that are interested in learning more about the opportunities offered by USC-L in partnership with the Lancaster County School District. The meeting will take place in the Multi-Purpose building beginning at 5:30.
- The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose Building. Invitations were sent directly to eligible students. We look forward to a wonderful ceremony!
- We ask that you take a moment to reflect on your student's progress from the first grading period! Take a moment to celebrate their success! In addition, be sure to create a plan that promotes success in the future if they have experienced any struggles or obstacles thus far! As always, please be sure to communicate with their teachers if you ever have any questions regarding their progress and the opportunities for support! It is all about having a growth mindset!
- Progress Reports will be available through the PowerSchool on Thursday, February 27th!
- Our next School Improvement Council Meeting will take place on Monday, March 3rd at 6:15 in the Maker Space here at BHS! We look forward to seeing you there!
As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you may have! We look forward to seeing you here at the hive over the next few weeks! In the meantime, take care and stay safe! Go Jackets!
Sincerely,
BHS Administration

There is a $20 membership fee that pays for our chapter's national dues. You only have to pay this fee one time. If this fee is an issue, please talk to Mr. Belk to see if alternate arrangements can be made. You may also purchase an NHS T-shirt for $18.50 to wear to group events. Just like dues, this is a one-time expense. We will keep the same design every year, so you will never have to purchase another one.
You may bring money to Mrs. Sellers in the front office or pay the night of the ceremony. Please make checks payable to Buford High School and include your driver's license and phone number.
The Fall 2025 Application for USCL Dual Enrollment is now open. All students who plan to take Dual Enrollment classes must submit this application, even if they completed an application for the 2024-2025 school year. The application deadline is May 15. Students who apply after that date may have to wait until the Spring 2026 semester to take classes. Furman University Survey
Parents! We need your help!
We are reaching out to encourage you to support your student in participating in an important survey from The Furman University Riley Institute. The survey is designed to gather valuable insights from high school students, and we believe it could provide them with an opportunity to share their perspectives on key issues.
The deadline for completion is Monday, February 24th, and we appreciate your support in ensuring that your student participates.
Thank you for your continued partnership!
