Community Advisory Team School Finance Session
Treasurer John Espy at CAT Meeting
Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
October was a busy month for Loveland City Schools, as we hosted the second of our Community Advisory Team meetings and a Town Hall all about School Finance. Treasurer John Espy delivered great information to our community about district finances and shared his knowledge about the state school funding system. We are working hard to provide opportunities for our community to learn about these important issues, and we appreciate everyone who has taken the time to attend.
I also want to thank our Loveland Schools Foundation for their amazing generosity and support of our staff. Each year, the Loveland Schools Foundation raises money to help supplement the fantastic things we have going on in our buildings. Staff members across the district were awarded grants for things like science materials, video production equipment for the Middle School News Network, standing desks, flexible classroom furniture, CPR manikins, support for mentoring programs, virtual reality equipment, reading materials, and more. Nearly 40 staff members were awarded grants thanks to the generosity of people in our community who support the Loveland Schools Foundation. Thank you to everyone who donated, and learn more about the Foundation here: https://www.lovelandschoolsfoundation.org/
Veterans Day is coming up on November 11, 2024, and this year our students will be in school on Veterans Day. This is a change for the district, but it provides a great opportunity for teachers to talk to students about the importance of service and sacrifice that goes along with serving in the US Armed Forces. Our buildings are planning events with veterans, including assemblies, letter-writing campaigns, and classroom visits.

Great Discussions During School Finance Town Hall
Community Members Learning About District Finances and the State School Funding System
Treasurer’s Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
Thank you to all of the community members who were able to attend the Finance Town Hall we hosted on October 16. There was great conversation and feedback that we always look forward to receiving. I encourage community members to attend future Town Hall meetings in the spring that will center around district facilities.
This past month, I have been focusing on grant writing to bring in additional funding to the district. While this is time-consuming, it is also exciting to see all the possibilities for future new revenue sources for the district. As we enter the Thanksgiving season, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve my community, and I wish you and yours all the best.
Go Tigers!

LHS Students Attend HealthForce 2024
Loveland High School students attended HealthForce 2024, a healthcare-related career fair. Interested students learned about different jobs available in the medical field and made important career connections. Trips like these are part of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision commitment to exposing students to lifelong success through enlistment, enrollment, or employment.
Exploration Wednesday
Wednesday, October 16 was “Exploration Wednesday” at Loveland High School. Regular instruction was paused so students could explore college and career options. It’s part of our commitment to exposing students to the many pathways to lifelong success through enlistment, enrollment, or employment.
Students in Grade 9 had an opportunity to go to work with a family member or friend for “Freshman Career Connect.” Students in grades 10 and 11 take college and career assessments like the PreACT and PSAT, the ASVAB to identify potential military careers, or WorkKeys, which measures job skills needed in the workforce.
Seniors spent the day job shadowing, visiting schools, or volunteering. Some highlights included a trip to The Lodge, where our high school seniors spent time with senior citizens, and a visit to the Care Center, where students helped greet visitors and prepared food for people in need.
Exploration Wednesday is a big part of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision goals around career pathways and giving our students opportunities to volunteer and impact the community.

Elf, The Musical - at Loveland High School
Christmas spirit starts early in Loveland with a production of Elf the Musical at Loveland High School November 13-16. This show is a great start to the family holidays and will have you pulling out your decorations extra early.
A baby who crawled into Santa’s sack and grew up at the North Pole with the elves finds out he actually is human. When he sets off to find his family in New York City, Buddy’s adventures show him the good and the bad of living in the big city.
Will people believe he really knows “the big guy”? Can he raise enough Christmas spirit to get Santa’s sleigh to fly and save his dad’s publishing company from ruin?
Over 70 students are involved in this production - the backstage crew, the actors singing and dancing on stage, and the orchestra playing the stick-in-your-head sparklejollytwinklejingley tunes.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens. Order yours here:
