Dear Lake Forest High School,
Happy Friday and HAPPY HOMECOMING WEEK! It smells and feels like a crisp fall day, and this evening looks like it might be a perfect night for a football game. As a reminder for our LFHS alum, please checkout the infographic below. There is an all-alum photo at 6:45 PM, and you won’t want to miss it!
In the video message above, I was joined by Kat Yakes, our student body president. Our student leaders have worked hard this week to make it extra special for our Scouts–and Kat does an outstanding job representing them and our school’s spirit! In this week’s video, I also previewed a part of one of my favorite websites, Common Sense Media. In particular, I reference the page that is all about Social Media for Teens, so parents and Scouts, consider spending a little time perusing it. Knowledge is power–this we know.
A special shout out to our APT Hospitality Committee for the Tailgate Luncheon today, and to Snowie Shaved Ice for the yummy treats!
And now, I am off to see our students running around the cafeteria in sumo suits during lunch. This. Isn’t. A. Drill. This. Is. School. Spirit.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Erin

LFHS Morning News
Village of Lake Bluff-Student Representative Needed for Community Advisory Board
Lake Forest High School Students who live in the Village of Lake Bluff have had a seat on the Village’s Sustainability and Community Enhancement Ad Hoc Committee (SEC) since its creation in 2015. The mission of the SEC is to advise the Village Board on certain policy matters and programs that improve the sustainability of Lake Bluff and enhance the community environment. LFHS students have provided remarkable insight and helped elevate the Lake Bluff environment with passion and poise. This community advisory board post would be a great addition for the resume of a student passionate about sustainability or environmental matters looking to study the same in college. Here’s a sample of what SEC meetings look like. Procedurally, the selected student will be appointed to serve by the Village President with the consent of the Board of Trustees.
If you are a high school student, a Lake Bluff resident and are interested in learning more about this opportunity contact Drew Irvin, Village Administrator, Village of Lake Bluff, 40 East Center Avenue, Lake Bluff, Illinois 60044, Office 847.283.6883, Cell 224.588.7807, dirvin@lakebluff.org
