Bandits Spring Lacrosse for Girls is OPEN!
Dear DPM Families,
Last Friday, we celebrated our beloved D67 Custodial Lead, Norberto Garcia, as he officially heads off into a well-deserved retirement. During Advisory our students wrote him thank you notes to express their gratitude for his decades of service taking care of all our schools, especially his home base of Deer Path. We surprised him with a “clap out,” which is a DPM tradition we have for our 8th graders as they leave the building on their last day of school. Every student and staff member lined the halls of the school and enthusiastically cheered “Mr. Garcia! Mr. Garcia! Mr. Garcia!” to shower him with love one last time. At the end of the chain, our SLS and StuCrew members gifted him with the thank you notes from the DPM student body as we bid him a final farewell.
We could not be more grateful for Norberto and his countless contributions to our school community!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Michelle Shinn, 5/6 Principal
Mr. Sam Paulsen, 7/8 Principal

You may recall in our district communication on February 7, after more than 20 years of dedicated service, District 67 Custodial Lead Norberto Garcia will begin his well-earned retirement today, February 7. We thank Norberto for his hard work and commitment to our schools and wish him all the best in this next chapter!
His retirement has created exciting new opportunities within our custodial team.
Congratulations to Rosalio Guzman, formerly a custodian at Everett, who has stepped into the role of District 67 Custodial Supervisor.
David Fajardo, a longtime Cherokee custodian, will now serve as Everett’s building custodian.
At Cherokee, Juan Carlos Servin will take on the role of day custodian, bringing his experience from DPM.

A huge thank you to Katie Wilson and Noel Dolan for organizing District 67’s Spread the Love card-making event. Our 5/6 students shared appreciation with the greater Lake Forest community, including:

- Starbucks, Walgreens, CVS, and Sweets
Additionally, the 8th Grade Service Committee, led by Angela Schremser and Shannon Maguire, created Valentine’s Day party favors for Fill-A-Heart. Both 7th- and 8th-grade students made bracelets for foster children in Lake County to brighten their day.
Community Service Reminder
Please remind your DPM student to log their community service hours.
- Six suggested hours contribute toward their graduation goal.
- Students who complete 50 or more hours are eligible for the Presidential Volunteer Award and will be recognized at the Star Student Assembly.🌟
