Sherwood Middle School
May 29, 2023 Update
Dear Sherwood Community,
We hope you have been able to take some time this weekend to rest and enjoy time with your family and friends.
It was great to see so many Grade 4 students and families at our Open House Monday night! Thank you to our Grade 6 Student Advisors, Mrs. Gutekanst, Ms. Bolt, and Ms. O'Connell for organizing this event and welcoming our students and families!
As we celebrate Memorial Day this weekend, let's take time to pause and be grateful for those who have sacrificed their lives to serve and protect our country. As always, thank you for your support of your child and our school community.
Have a great week!
Jon, Heather, and Karen

Extended Day Program
Extended School Care (ESC) is accepting registrations for next year’s program. ESC provides quality before and after school care for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Operated by the Shrewsbury Public Schools, the program is fully funded through parent fees. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students can engage in enriching activities, participate in recreational programming and socialize with their peers. Time is also set aside each day for students to work on their homework. Our experienced and caring staff members create fun and innovative programming for students of all ages, interests and abilities. We focus on building positive relationships, developing social skills, strengthening self-esteem, and encouraging independence, responsibility and good decision-making. Our programs are located within the school building at Beal, Coolidge, Floral, Paton, Spring and Sherwood.
The before-school program opens at 7:00AM and parents can drop off their child any time between 7:00 and the start of school.
The after-school program closes at 6:00PM, and parents can pick up their child any time between the end of the school day and 6:00PM. You can learn more about the program, including registration instructions and monthly tuition fees on our website.

Please join us as we wrap up our year & begin to discuss our fundraising for the 2023-24 school year!

These funds support: 4 field trips (1 per grade), media center materials (both schools), fees for math clubs and other events, Spelling Bees, funding requests and MUCH MORE!
While many of our events are fundraisers, we also do other events to help support our middle schools communities. Our small PTO team always welcomes grade 5-8 parents at all of our meetings, and to assist with planning and running our annual events:
