Arrival/Dismissal Reminders
With many more cars in our drop-off and pick-up lanes these days, we thought this would be a good time to remind everyone about some of our arrival/dismissal procedures. The video below explains are procedures in greater detail. Please be sure to share these procedures and the video with any relatives and caregivers that may assist with transporting your child. In particular:
- Student drop-off and pick-up is prohibited along Olive Street between Arlington Heights Road and Douglas Street.
- Please pull your car as far forward into the loading zone as traffic allows. As space becomes available, please continue to pull your vehicle forward to close any gaps.
- Students may unload/load from the PASSENGER SIDE of the vehicle only. The driver may NOT get out of the car and cars may NOT be left unattended in the loading zone.
We have these procedures in place to keep you and your children safe. They only work if we all work together!

Author Allan Woodrow Will Visit OMS
Olive is honored to host author Allan Woodrow. He was scheduled to visit on Thursday, January 24 for students in third, fourth, and fifth grades. However, Mr. Woodrow has had a change of plans. We will need to reschedule his visit. We will let students the new date. He is best known for his humorous realistic fiction set in schools.
If any students or families would like to order personalized autographed books by Mr. Woodrow, please print and return an order form to the library media center by the day of his visit. Follow this link to the LMC website to find the order form to print. Paper copies of order forms will also be available in the library for students to bring home.
