School starts at 8:30!
We love every minute with our GVS students!
Arrivals after 8:30 are marked tardy.
This week we have record numbers of tardies. Late arrivers are complaining that signing in makes them even later. Our recommendation to them is to not be late.
How we can help you to have your child in the building by 8:30?

A message from our Reading Specialist, Mrs. Buckley:
Say What?
Here are some ways to improve a child's vocabulary:
Read together: Reading to children from an early age helps develop their language and literacy skills. You can also encourage them to read books that are more challenging than their current reading level.
Play word games: Word games like Scrabble, I Spy, Hangman, and Pictionary can help children learn new words in a fun way.
Encourage storytelling: Storytelling helps children use new words and practice structuring sentences. It also helps them develop their imagination and narrative skills.
Introduce a word of the day: Choose a new word each day to highlight and immerse your child in the language.
Have conversations: Talk with your child and encourage them to ask about new words they come across.
Use a dictionary and thesaurus: Look up new words and practice using them in context.
Help your child look for word roots: Use synonyms to help define a word.
Be a role model: Show your child that you're learning new words too.
A message from our school nurse, Mrs. Carey:
Be healthy and have a great weekend!
