The morning bell does not ring until 8:40 am and there are no teachers on duty until then. For safety reasons, students are not allowed through the gate or on the playground until the bell rings. Please keep them with you on the sidewalk until the 8:40 am morning bell rings. Thank you!

Please do not allow your child to bring toys to school. There may be special days in your child's classroom when a special toy can be brought in, and your child's teacher will let you know when and if those days occur throughout the year. Thank you for respecting this school expectation!

Birthdays and celebrations are special times in a child's life. As mentioned in Vine Street's student handbook, if you choose to celebrate your child's birthday or other special occasion, please remember that as Vine Street is an inclusive school, we can only allow invitations for a party to be given out at school if all students in your child's classroom receive one. And most importantly, due to various allergies students have, we cannot allow homemade foods. Special snacks need to be brought to school in their original containers so school staff can read ingredients to ensure that a child will not be inadvertently exposed to a known allergen. To minimize disruption to students’ learning, please contact your child’s teacher in advance if you would like to bring a special treat to school.

For those who would still like to be considered for volunteering at Vine Street school and events, I will hold a Volunteer Training at the October 2nd PTO meeting.

Please join us for Vine Street's annual Title I Compact Meeting at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, October 2nd. It will occur just before the PTO meeting and volunteer training.

Dear Vine Street School Families,

We had a great turnout at our last PTO meeting, with several others who wanted to be there but couldn't make it. We're excited to see this level of interest and involvement!

New Facebook Group: To help everyone stay informed, Audrie has created a Vine Street School PTO Facebook group! It is labeled: Vine Street Elementary School PTO. This will be our go-to spot for sharing updates on meetings, fundraising, volunteer opportunities, and reminders. Be sure to join us there to stay connected.

Fall Festival and Ice Cream Social: We’re happy to announce that the Fall Festival is on! This year, we’re planning to combine it with an Ice Cream Social, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 17th, with a rain date of October 24th. More details will follow, and we’ll discuss volunteers to help at the next PTO meeting.

Fundraising Partnerships: Melissa and Jenna have graciously offered to reach out to local businesses and restaurants to see if they’d like to partner with us for a percentage of the proceeds when mentioning the Vine Street School. Stay tuned for more information on these potential partnerships!

Next PTO Meeting: Mark your calendars—our next PTO meeting will be on Wednesday, October 2nd at 5:30 PM. We’ll also be holding another volunteer training session during this meeting! Many of you have asked about when you can complete this, so we’re happy to offer it again. If you complete your volunteer training by this date, you should be cleared in time to volunteer at the Fall Festival.
