WELCOME

I hope everyone is excited to start an AMAZING marching season! The staff has been working hard to have an exciting show filled with great music ready for you and we can't wait for our first movement camp THIS WEEK!

New Parent Meeting

We will have a New Parents where I will go through details of High School Band on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 6:30 PM. This is highly encouraged for ALL incoming freshmen parents. There will be a presentation given as well as time to ask questions. I look forward to meeting you all in the Sachse HS Bandhall. Students are encouraged to come as well to ask any questions they may have regarding High School Band.

Percussion/ Colorguad, please RSVP to the movement camp if you’ll be in attendance 4/25/24 so we have plenty of food for everyone, you will join us after your clinic concludes for Pizza!

We will go over information regarding auditions, registration, summer band, marching band rehearsal schedules, and all details of High School Band

Friday May 3 @ SHS; color guard/ drumline Auditions & Registration ($100 deposit will be due upon registration; cash, check, money order, credit or debit can be accepted.)

Specific Audition information and times will be given at the clinics.

Saturday, May 4 @ SHS; Wind Auditions/ Registration (see link below for schedule; $100 deposit will be due upon registration; cash, check, money order, credit or debit can be accepted.)

7:30 AM- noon; JUNE 3-5, 2024

Wear athletic clothes, tennis shoes, and bring instrument and all HS music that was provided to you. Make sure you also have a pencil, tuner, and bottle of water.

Wednesday Sectionals

Sectionals will be on Wednesdays throughout the summer from June 12 through July 17

JULY 3 will be NO SECTIONALS and the bandhall will be closed.

These will be scheduled by section leaders between 9 AM and 2 PM and are typically one- two hours.

If you are out of town and cannot attend a sectional, please communicate that to the section leader and copy Mrs. Taylor via e-mail.

Any student wanting to take summer lessons, be aware that Wednesdays will also be the lesson day for teachers using our campus for their lessons.

Summer Band Dates (Below are required rehearsals)

July 15- 19

Guard/ Percussion Camp

July 22-26; 29-30

7:30 AM- 4 PM. Full Band Camp at Sachse HS

August 5-6

7:30 AM- noon. Full Band Morning Rehearsals

July 31- Aug 2, Aug 7-9 We will continue summer band with either an AM or PM schedule. You will see both on our calendar, however, once we have more information from the district regarding professional development schedules, one of the two will be deleted.

AM Rehearsals will likely be 6:30 AM- 10:30 AM

PM Rehearsals will likelly be 5 PM- 9 PM

August 3, 10, 17 We will have DRILL DAYS

7:30 AM- 3 PM.These are required for ALL band/ guard students
