Welcome to Cascade Middle School's weekly parent newsletter.
Please don't forget that Monday is Fly-Up Day for our eighth graders. Have your students check their backpacks for those permission slips. We need to have them in hand on Monday before students get on the bus. Still need a permission slip? We have attached them below.

We just published a new episode of The Supe’s On podcast with Superintendent Steven Cook covering two topics of interest to middle and high school families:
FLY-UP DAY: The annual CTE and Elective Exploration Fly-Up Day on Monday, March 3. All 8th-grade students will be bused to the high school to which they are pointed to attend for the 2025-26 school year, where they’ll get a firsthand look at Career and Technical Education programs and electives.
LIFE & CAREER READINESS NIGHT: Students and families are invited to explore the future at Life & Career Readiness Night on Wednesday, March 12, at Caldera High School from 5- 7 p.m. Visit with higher education representatives and regional employers in the private and public sectors. This is free for everyone: Just show up and explore!

Cascade's Jacqueline Sherer wins regional MathCounts competition
Congratulations to Jacqueline Sherer for winning first place in MathCounts Central Oregon Region this weekend.
MathCounts is a nationwide competition program created in 1983 that aims to make math fun. Students compete in a series of events that emphasize speed, accuracy, problem-solving, and collaboration. The Central Oregon competition was held Feb. 22 at Bend International School. The statewide competition will be held March 8 in Salem.
Jacqueline, an eighth grader, has won the first place individual trophy three years in a row for Cascade Middle School!

Sexuality Education (Sex Ed) is required by Oregon law in grades K-12. Parents/guardians have the right to review Sex Ed lessons and opt their child out.
Health Education is most effective when parents and other adult caregivers are involved. Be an askable adult. Teacher will refer students back to their families for questions about values.

Caldera Football hosts Junior Wolfpup Camp Aug. 12-14
Registration opens March 17 for the first ever Junior Wolfpup Football Camp at Caldera High School. The camp is open to all students who will be in grade 4-8 this fall. Details are below!
