Guest Speaker Announcement
At the end of last year, Meadows Site Council approved a budget for 2 guest speakers, the first of which, Tanner Clark, is scheduled for October. He speaks about finding "One Second of Strength" to live your best life and encourages people to ditch their digital devices, reconnect in real life, and embrace their self-worth.
He will be doing two different assemblies, one on October 15th for our 5th and 6th-grade students and one on the 16th for our 7th and 8th-grade students. In addition, he will be hosting a parent session on the evening of October 15th.
We will be sure to share more information as the date approaches. In the meantime, you can check out his website https://www.onesecondofstrength.com/ or his Instagram page @realtannerclark
September 11th
Ms. Vacanti and Mr. Goff gave their 5th, 7th and 8th grade students time to collaborate on September 11, 2024 on a collage to memorialize Flight 93. Students watched a video about the Field of Honor on the Flight 93 National Memorial''s website. Then, students designed a collage with 40 trees and 40 flowers to honor those who gave their lives. Students researched the names of the passengers and crew and used the names in the collage. Ms. Vacanti reached out to the National Park Service and received confirmation today that the collages created by Meadows students will be displayed in Pennsylvania at the Flight 93 Memorial.
Morning Parent Drop-Off
Students should NOT be dropped off before 8:10 am. Scheduled supervision begins at 8:10 am when the arrival bell rings.
If you arrive before 8:10 am, please have students wait in the car with you.
In the 3rd Avenue lot, please note that spots in the northwest corner of the lot need to be reserved for staff.
Athletics
Athletics has two exciting events coming up. On Thurs, 10/3 students can participate in our 4v4 Volleyball Tournament with 5th & 6th grade playing in the morning and 7th & 8th grades playing in the afternoon. The cost is $5 a player and students can sign up from the flyers posted around school or ask Coach Flowers. Watch for information on a November “Turkey Bowl” alumni flag football game event! This will be a Friday Night Lights on campus and should be a great community event!
Camp Friendly Pines
It takes staff about 15 minutes to complete after-school duty and transition to the library. Please be patient while you wait for them to get organized to receive your luggage.
