INFORMATION REGARDING EARLY DISMISSALS FOR STUDENT ILLNESS
Please Read.
Dear Arcade Parents,
Please direct your learner to come to the office and visit the nurse if they don’t feel well, rather than texting or calling you directly. If they do contact you to pick them up, please remind them to see the nurse first. Our experienced nurse, Aimee Mercer, is here all day, every day, and she can assess whether your child needs to go home. She will connect with you to arrange pick-up of your sick child if needed.
Consulting with our nurse before picking up your child has many benefits. It allows you to take your student home with a complete understanding of their physical or mental state, and if the nurse determines your child is too sick to be at school, your child’s attendance will be coded with a doctor’s excusal code (which are unlimited), instead of with a parent-cleared illness code (which are limited).
Sometimes, a student just needs a quick break, or even simply some water, to feel better and stay in school.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students healthy and in school!
