Reunification Drill Parent Volunteers Needed
We are seeking parent volunteers for our upcoming reunification safety drill on the afternoon of October 10th. The time commitment for this volunteer opportunity is approximately 90 minutes. This important drill helps us ensure that our procedures are effective and smooth in the event of an emergency. Your participation will provide valuable insight into how we can best reunite students with their families. If you're available to help, please fill out this form by Tuesday, October 8th and you will be contacted with additional information—we greatly appreciate your support!
Lost and Found
Our lost and found collection will be moved to the front lobby of the school next week. We have quite a large collection of sweatshirts, water bottles, bags and shoes. If your student has lost items this quarter, please have them check, or feel free to drop by the school to check for yourself.
All unclaimed items will be donated over fall break.
PLC Work At Cimarron
At the heart of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) is a focus on student learning. Teachers in a PLC work together weekly to identify key learning objectives and develop strategies to help all students achieve these goals. This collective effort leads to more targeted instruction and better student outcomes which is increased learning and growth for our students.

Veterans Day Celebration
Cimarron Middle School is hosting our annual Veterans Day Celebration to honor those in our community who selflessly serve our country.
Please invite your veteran to join us on Monday, November 11th at 8:30 am at Cimarron. Your veteran, student, and other family members will be able to join us for this fantastic event. The celebration will last approximately 45 minutes and there will be a reception for veterans immediately following the ceremony.
Please RSVP here or to Stephany Hoff at 720-433-1368 by November 4th.
Veterans Day Field of Flags
This Veterans Day, Cimarron students will set up a field of American flags to honor America’s veterans and raise critical funds to support our ill and injured heroes.
Each flag in the Field of Flags honors a different veteran. And behind each flag is a unique story—a story about courage and freedom. A story about sacrifice. A story worth honoring.
Each flag is a donation to represent one veteran and our unwavering commitment to serving all veterans after they’ve sacrificed so much for our country. All donations will raise critical funds to support the life-changing services DAV (Disabled American Veterans) provides for veterans in need and their families.
Will you fly a flag to honor veterans? USE THIS LINK to add your flag to our field today.
Donations
Donations Needed: Please drop off all donations at the front office. We appreciate you!
We are always looking for gift card donations of $5 gift cards to support our Be Red card Friday Drawings. Students love Fika, McDonalds, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Berry Blendz, Swirls, Target just to name a few.
Our 8th grade Components of Movement class is hard at work on their fly fishing skills. If you have any fly fishing rods that you no longer use, Cimarron would love to take those off your hands. Please bring them to the front office.
The Be RED store is back! We are going to start employing students to help run the store this year. We are always looking for continued donations: the best sellers are Air Heads, packs of gum, mini Gatorades, lunch-sized bags of chips, and mini fidgets!! Feel free to search on this Amazon wish list but you can always go off board too! Ask your student for ideas on items they would like to see in the store!
In an effort to show our appreciation for our outstanding staff, we are launching an initiative to provide them with tokens of gratitude throughout the year. These tokens, though small, carry a significant impact in letting our staff know that their hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. To achieve this, we have created an Amazon Wish List filled with a variety of small thank-you gifts that our staff members would greatly appreciate. These gifts will be given out as tokens of appreciation to those who consistently go the extra mile for our students.

Love and Logic Parenting Tip
In a world that often feels like it’s spinning faster than we can keep up, helping our children find their way isn’t just about giving them the right tools—it’s about helping them discover the deeper meaning behind what they do. A sense of purpose gives kids a roadmap for life. It helps them make healthy and responsible decisions, stay motivated, and understand the impact of their actions on others. Kids with a clear sense of purpose are more resilient, less likely to get derailed by bumps in the road, and more focused on achieving meaningful goals. This often translates into better grades, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of fulfillment. So how can we, as parents and educators, help them get there?
1. Live Your Own Purpose
Talk to your kids about your own values, passions, and contributions. Let them see you engage in activities that align with your purpose. When kids see the adults in their lives living with purpose, it becomes more than just a concept—it becomes a way of life. They start to see that life isn’t just about getting what you want; it’s about making a difference.
2. Help Them Find Their Passions
Purpose often starts with passion. Encourage your child to explore different activities and interests. Pay attention to what lights them up, what they talk about endlessly, what brings them joy, and give them opportunities to pursue these interests. Encourage your child to stay curious and open to new experiences. Purpose isn’t something you find once and hold onto forever; it’s something that grows and changes over time.

CMAS Testing Spring 2025
The state test, CMAS, is very important to Cimarron Middle School. When families look to move into our community, the first consideration before buying a house is the performance of the schools. Cimarron Middle School is scored on the growth and achievement of the state assessment. When our enrollment is up, we get better funding to provide our students with the best experiences possible. Our staff uses these scores to guide curricular resources and programming for our students.
We are proud of the 91% of students that took this assessment last year. We are grateful for the way our community prioritizes education and hope to continue to have an outstanding high rate of participation. This prepares students for standardized testing in their future, including college readiness assessments or a standardized assessment for the career students choose.
If you choose to not have your student take this assessment, you will need to first set up a meeting with the grade level assistant principal. At this meeting we want to gain understanding of the reason, as well as talk about the importance of this assessment. This process for excusal is available until December 1st to opt out of the state assessment (CMAS). This means that meetings with the grade level AP will need to take place before this deadline date.
