Thank you to everyone who has sent a smock for their child to wear during Art. If you have not, please send one as soon as you can. Old, baggy t-shirts make great smocks. Make sure your child can put it on and take it off by themselves and their name is on it.
Have a great day,
Mrs. Newville

Sra. Newville

Notes from the Office
Notes from the Office
Our Frequently Asked Questions document is the best place to check for answers to many questions you may have about policies, procedures, and general Bethesda information. This document is updated throughout the year as the need arises. Here are a few quick items of importance that can also be found in the FAQ (Spanish version: Preguntas Frecuentas)
The School District of Waukesha will no longer use Safe Arrival or School Messenger. We have streamlined the process for parents so you only need one app to review and report attendance, pay school fees, view grades, etc, using the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
Absence Reporting: Parents or guardians can request absences through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal or the mobile app. To report an absence for your child(ren), log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Go to Menu on the left-hand side of the screen, Click "More", then select "Absence Requests". For detailed instructions on how to report an absence, please click here. Spanish Instructions
There are QR codes below that have directions on how to use IC to report an absence below.
Messaging: Please review your contact preferences in the parent portal. Families will not receive any text messages from the district unless they "opt-in" to receive text messages. For detailed instructions on how to review and update your communication preferences, click here. Spanish Instructions
If you have any questions or need assistance with the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact IChelp@waukesha.k12.wi.us or call 262-970-1070.
Another option if you cannot get onto IC is to call the Bethesda attendance line and leave a voicemail about your childs absence, late arrival or early pick up. That number is 262-970-1316
Keep in mind, Infinite Campus is preferred.

Parents and Relatives are welcome to chaperone for field trips and volunteer in classrooms for reading help, parties etc. Our mission is to keep children safe so please read the following...
You are required to fill out the SECURE VOLUNTEER application found on the school website to be able to go on field trips. It takes 3-4 weeks to gets results. We suggest you do this at the beginning of the year. If you have done one in the last 3 years you should be good. They expire after 3 years. If you had one within the last 3 years and you try to reapply and it does not allow you to process it through, that means you are still valid. You will recieve emails updating you on your verification. Once verified, you will recieve a virtual verification card in your email. We recommend you screenshot it and save it. You will not be allowed to Chaperone without being on the on the Secure Volunteer approval list. No exceptions.
If you are volunteering in a classroom, you will need to check in at the office and will have to go through our Verkada verification system in order to go to the classrooms. You will need to bring your Drivers License or WI State ID in order to be processed through. NO exceptions.
Important Reminders
Reminders
Communication
Our primary method of school communication is weekly newsletters and emails. Some teachers use Class Dojo, however this is not a school requirement. If you need to get a message to your child's teacher during the day, please check with your child's teacher as to their preferred method.
If you need to get a message to your child during the day, please message the teacher and/or office rather than your child. Students are not to be using personal communication devices during the school day and also should not be communicating home on their iPads as it is disruptive.
- Board policy: 5136 - PERSONAL COMMUNICATION DEVICES OTHER THAN CELLULAR PHONES - "Personal communication devices" ("PCDs") other than cell phones as used in this policy are defined in Bylaw 0100. While elementary students may possess PCDs other than cell phones in school, on school property, during after school activities (e.g., extra-curricular activities), at school-related functions, and on school buses or other Board-approved vehicles, they must be stored out of sight during school hours.
Pick-up and Drop-off
Please be sure to follow the designated lanes for pick-up and drop-off. There is a pick-up/drop-off lane (affectionately known as "kiss and go"). Please do not park and get out of your car in this lane. If you are leaving your car for any reason, please be sure to park in a designated parking spot and use the lane meant for parking to avoid creating congestion in the parking lot. Please be mindful of your speed and obey all traffic laws while on Bethesda property for the safety of students, families, and staff.
Students on School Grounds
As a school policy, students should NOT be on school grounds before 8:25am for any reason. There is no supervision until the doors open at 8:30am.
Dogs Prohibited on School Grounds
Most people love cute dogs and puppy snuggles however due to district policies dogs/pets are not alllowed on school gounds. It is fine to stay on the public sidewalks on the University and Pendelton sides just make sure to not bring them onto school grounds.
Dress Code Policy
Please read our Bethesda FAQs section above or on the website about dress code for our school. We have had some questions and concerns brought to our attention and you can find information on whats appropriate for school in there.
