Dance It Up! November Newsletter

Dance Jam has had a busy fall with a performance at the St. Mary's Fall Festival, working together to bring Ellie the Skellie to life and their upcoming performance in Not Just Nutcracker. They have so many great events still to come this year and you can be a part of it! Join Dance Jam for an opportunity to perform on the ice at a Worcester Railers hockey game, on the field at a Bravehearts baseball game, showcase your talents at DIU's annual Our World is Dancing performance, open the show for Apple Tree Arts spring musical and more!

For dancers ages 6 and up! Dance Jam is a non-competitive, innovative performance ensemble. Students work with various choreographers learning a variety of dance pieces to perform for the community. Dance Jam is a fun dance opportunity that challenges students’ bodies and minds. Participation fosters self-discipline, self-esteem and performance ability through the art of dance. All students must be enrolled in either a ballet or jazz class to join Dance Jam.

Dancers and friends aged 3-11 had a frightfully good time at our annual Halloween party! Fancy and spooky friends all danced and played together for a night of treats and good times. Thanks to all who attended for making this event such a success. We loved spending the evening with you!

Dance It Up! Themed Friday Night Parties for ages 4-11 are a fun-tastic time for all!

Bring a friend to dance and party with us. We'll provide a snack, dancing, games and a themed activity. Parties are from 5:30-7:30PM* at the Dance It Up! studio.

• 12/13/2024 - PJ/Movie Night. Put on your favorite PJ's and get ready for a holiday movie with a snack to match and games to delight*

• 1/10/2025 - 50's Sock Hop Night. Poodle skirts and ponytails! We'll do the Madison and have some hand jivin' fun!

• 3/14/2025 - Western Night. Line dancing!!! Grab your boots and cowboy hat, we've got some partying to do!

• 4/11/2025 - A Night at the Zoo! Bring your favorite zoo animal stuffie and we will bring the fun.

Working on a double pirouette? Want to master the coffee grinder or add a one-armed cartwheel to your skill set?

Did you know that you can schedule 30 minute private lessons in any genre for one on one time with an instructor?

Contact the office to schedule a private lesson for your dancer.

Our dress rehearsal is at Dance It Up! on Saturday, November 23! Professional photos by Shier's Photography in costumes, will take place on the 23th. Bookmark the Nutcracker page on our website and make sure you have subscribed to texting for your account! We will send Nutcracker schedule updates, photo and ticketing information, and announcements via text, and keep an eye out for the next Not Just Nutcracker newsletter!

Due to the Not Just Nutcracker performance scheduled for Saturday, December 7, Miss Ashley's Fundamentals I/II class will not take place! Students in Miss Ashley's class may schedule a make up class, offered on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Please stop by the office to schedule your make up.

All other Saturday classes will run as scheduled!

When you refer a friend who signs up for classes they get a $25 Dance It Up! tuition credit, and so do you! Make sure your referral contacts the office to let us know that you shared Dance It Up with them and we'll do the rest.

Mini Sessions are a great new way for dancers to join our Dance It Up community with a flexible schedule to meet their needs! Six-week long classes begin when you are ready to begin. We offer mini sessions in Dance 'N Play, Intro to Dance, Ballet/Tap I/II, Fundamentals I/II, Hip Hop, Acro and Irish. Mini sessions can also be schedule for other genres!

Mini sessions are non-recital classes. Please email the studio for pricing and details. This is a great program for current dance families to try out a new genre, or for families new to Dance It Up!

It's not too late for new students to join or for current students to add an additional class to their schedule. We offer ongoing registration for all your favorite classes and performance groups. Not sure if a class is right for you? Come to a trial class to find out! See our class offerings listed by age group on the 2024-25 schedule, and sign up for classes on our website. Register before the end of the year to avoid the costume fee increase.

We're a few weeks into the season and we are building quite a collection of lost water bottles, coats and dance shoes. Our Lost & Found is located in the upper waiting area atop the white dancer cubbies.

Please mark all water bottles, shoes and clothing with your dancer's name and we will do our best to make sure your lost items are returned to you!

Please subscribe to texting for important time-sensitive information and reminders including ticket sales, weather closures and class updates. To subscribe, follow the directions in the image or log on to your Dance It Up account using your email. At the top of your screen in the blue menu bar, select Account -> Account Info and check the "Subscribe to updates via texting" box. Click the blue "Save" button.

The DIU calendar for 2024-2025 is live on our website to help your plan your schedule and keep track of important dates.
