VH1 Save the Music Concert
January 29th and 30th
What is the VH1 Save The Music Concert?
The VH1 Save the Music Concert is a charity concert organized by a group of CB music teachers. The concert serves two purposes:
1) To raise money for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting underprivileged schools start their own music programs. Over the years, we have donated $76,000! Our goal is to raise $24,000 this year, to bring our total to an even $100,000.
2) To allow students to see some of their teachers actually DO what we teach - performing music! As such, this concert is unique for a school concert, in that the performers are mostly CB music teachers or other CB faculty/administrators. Basically, It is our chance to 'rock out' for our students. There are some student performers: Tamanend's Chieftain Chorus, Gold'n'Blues, and 9th Grade Orchestra perform in the concert, as well student groups from other schools.
We plan the concert to include a ton of music from many different eras and styles. Our between-song videos, costumes, and other visuals are always a highlight as well. Because of these things, this concert has become a highly anticipated event on the CB calendar. This is the 13th annual event - it seems to get bigger every year!
When and Where Is the Concert?
The concert is held at Holicong Middle School.
There are 3 performances:
Friday, January 29th at 7:30pm
Saturday, January 30th at 3:00pm
Saturday, January 30th at 7:30pm
The concerts should last approximately 2 hours.
Some of the music and videos will be presented in more than one of the concerts, and some will be presented only once. So, while each concert will have some similar content, each will be unique.

How Do I Get Tickets?
This is a great family event - please consider bringing children, grandparents, etc.! Ticket prices are $13 for adults and $7 for students (high school and younger). You can get tickets two ways:
1) Online presale (highly recommended!): http://vh12016.brownpapertickets.com/. Presales stop 6 hours before each concert.
2) At the door: Whatever tickets are left after the presale will be sold at the door. However, please note: This is a popular event. As such, it is likely that the Friday and Saturday night concerts will sell out, so please purchase tickets sooner rather than later! Saturday afternoon's concert hasn't been as crowded, but we are hoping to change that, so we can have a full house at all 3 performances!
Further Ways to Support The Cause
Beyond buying tickets to see the concert, there are others ways you can help support the Save the Music Foundation. OR, if you cannot attend the concert, but love the idea of supporting it, these ideas are perfect!
1) Help us find business sponsors. Businesses can help by donating items for our Basket Bonanza (described below) OR purchasing an ad in our pre-show scrolling slide show. Details are here: http://www.cbsd.org/Page/31943
2) Participate in the Basket Bonanza at the concerts. Various businesses donate items to go into our gift baskets. There are also some larger items, including two autographed guitars provided by the VH1 Save the Music foundation. To participate, purchase tickets at the concert and drop them into the collection box for the basket(s) you'd like to win. Tickets will be drawn after the concerts to determine the winners.
3) NEW THIS YEAR! Many of you probably have out-of-town friends and relatives who would love to support our cause, but are unable to attend the concert. We have a wonderful solution for them! They can donate directly - full details here: http://www.cbsd.org/Page/31877. We are very excited to offer this option this year, and hope that it will help us meet our $24,000 goal this year. Please share the link on social media/ with your distant friends and family.
4) There will also be extra concert t-shirts for sale at the concert, with all proceeds going to the cause.
