Dear Families,

We missed our Pirate Pups this week! We are looking forward to lots of exciting things the rest of this month (and hopefully the weather will cooperate!)

Couch Hough at the high school challenged his students to shovel driveways in their neighborhood. Harvey & Vincent Streeter, 2nd graders, joined in this challenge too! What a great way to give back to the community.

Please remember to have students return their packets on Monday. This will count for their attendance for our two virtual days. Have a great weekend!

Help your child have a smooth transition to school by arriving before 7:45!

We have noticed an increase in late arrivals. Next week is a great time to get back into the school routine. Please note the schedule below, and what your child misses when they arrive late to school:

7:25--Doors open, all students can enter the building and go to their classroom

7:45--Morning Zoom begins--students that are late miss out on this important community building time. We announce birthdays, recognize individual student celebrations, and give updates on upcoming events

7:50--Classroom instruction begins--When students come in late they often feel extra stress because they have missed out on the first part of their learning

8:00--Students are considered late after 8:00--When students come after 8:00, it causes a disruption to the learning environment of other students because teachers have to reteach already taught content or expectations

Every minute at school is important! We recognize that there will be valid reasons students are late, but when students consistently arrive late to school those lost instructional minutes add up and create gaps in learning. We appreciate you working hard to help your child arrive before 7:45.
