Meet Poway High's New Assistant Principal, Cindy Lewis!
Please help extend a warm welcome to our newest Titan Leader, Cindy Lewis, who will be joining Poway High starting Monday, March 10.
Hello! My name is Cindy Lewis and I am excited to be joining Poway High School as your newest Assistant Principal. I have over 10 years of teaching experience as a Social Studies teacher. I have taught middle school and high school at a private school, a charter school, and most recently in Vista Unified School District at Roosevelt Middle School, where I taught 7th and 8th grade history and was the ASB Director. Two years ago, I transitioned out of the classroom as a TOSA and I embraced a new challenge as a Community School Coordinator and Admin Designee at RMS. I live in Rancho Bernardo with my husband, Kevin, and our 3 kids. Emma is in her first year of college studying at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, Matthew is a sophomore at RBHS (we are now a house divided), and Ben is in 8th grade at BHMS. When not at work or at an activity for my kids, I enjoy cooking, hiking, and reading. I look forward to meeting everyone, go Titans!
Student Schedules for Trimester 3
Student schedules for Trimester 3 can be viewed on Sunday, March 9 after 5 pm by visiting the https://sis.powayusd.com website.
Please review your student’s course list. This is also a reminder that the ONLY schedule changes next week for Trimester 3 will be for students with the following situations:
The student needs to repeat a class because of a D or F grade
The student is missing a prerequisite for a class that is listed (i.e., Integrated Math 3A before Integrated Math 2B)
Seniors who need a class for a graduation requirement
A class that has already been taken is on the student's schedule
The schedule has an error (i.e. two classes are listed in the same period, or the same class is listed twice)
Students with the issues above should go to the counseling office during the period when they have the error on their schedule. Students can view the list of courses with openings on the boards outside the counseling office. All other changes (ex. student changed their mind about an elective) will be possible at the end of the week when our Schedule Change Form will open up again. Your patience during this busy time is appreciated.
Wishing all our Titans a GREAT third trimester!
The Counseling Team
Online Continuing Student Registration is open now until March 31, 2025.
We must receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student(s) for the 2025-2026 school year. This annual digital process allows a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection.
Continuing Registration Steps:
Log in and complete the digital registration packet via the online registration portal found here.
Review and complete any required forms located at the conclusion of the process. A packet is not considered finalized until this step is completed.
Please note: THERE WILL BE AN ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION PROCESS IN AUGUST AND YOUR PARTICIPATION WILL BE ESSENTIAL TO ENSURE A SMOOTH START TO THE SCHOOL YEAR.
MEDICATION FORMS and ADDITIONAL SIGNED SITE SPECIFIC FORMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED UNTIL SCHOOL BEGINS IN AUGUST FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR.

Seniors, It's Scholarship Search Time!
It's scholarship time for our local community organizations, and we are here to help you navigate through this process.
1. Start by exploring our Scholarship Deadline Log. In this document, you will discover lots of great local opportunities. Also, don't forget to check out college and trade school financial aid pages for more options.
2. Connections: Talk to your family and friends to possibly find scholarship gems with employers, or even your job!
3. Stay Informed: Follow us on Instagram @counseling_PHS for the latest scholarship news and reminders.
4. Application Tips: Apply for as many scholarships as possible, even the smaller ones - they add up! Be organized, meet deadlines, and personalize your application to stand out.
5. Be Prepared: Ensure you have all necessary documents, ask for letters of recommendation early. Often times, scholarship applications will ask for a letter of rec from a teacher or counselor as well as a community resource such as an adult or non-family member, employer, club coach, or organization leader. Highlight your strengths and be genuine about your experiences.
6. Begin the FAFSA or DREAM ACT Application: Completing the FAFSA is important so start your application SOON! Check with your college financial aid office for their priority consideration deadline; sometimes it is earlier than the California priority funding deadline of March 2, 2025.
Please note that the FAFSA application is not just for need-based aid; it may be needed for merit-based scholarships, local community scholarships, student loans, and other financial benefits.
Remember, every little bit helps, so take advantage of all available resources. Good luck on your scholarship journey, and reach out if you need support!
