A few Words from Mrs. Buch and Mr. Walton
Next week we will begin welcoming back our hybrid learners in kindergarten, first and fifth grade. The Westgate staff has been busy preparing for their arrival. We can't wait to see our Westgate Wolverines!
Teachers have emailed important information about classroom schedules, procedures, and student materials needed for in-person learning. Click here to access a comprehensive document with important information for everyone.
We wish you a healthy and happy weekend!

Please take minute to view our AHSD25 back to school video. The only change for Westgate is that our students will enter the building upon their arrival instead of lining up with their class.
The 4th/5th Grade Book Club will be kicking off soon virtually. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
District Assessment Update
Spring 2020 IAR Reports (4-5 grade only): Last spring our 3rd-5th graders took a portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness. Hybrid students will be bringing home their reports via backpack mail on October 22nd and 23rd. Letters for students who elected remote learning will be mailed home. Please let the office know if you would like to pick your letter up at school.
NWEA-MAP Assessment: I am happy to report that for the past couple of weeks, NWEA MAP assessment system has been operating without issue. With students returning soon to in-person learning, it is advantageous to begin MAP testing after the students return to school. Therefore, our new fall MAP window will run between October 19th-November 13th. Teachers will share specifics regarding the testing schedules soon. Students who elect for entirely remote instruction will test remotely and students who elect for in-person instruction will test while in school.
