Principal's Message
Lord,
we thank you for the gifts and
abilities you have blessed us with,
that we used today in our Athletics Carnival.
We pray that we can continue to use
our gifts and abilities to glorify You.
Amen
Father's Day
We hope that you enjoyed our special Father's Day breakfast this morning. It was great having so many dads and their children joining us and with some able to stay on for the carnival.
We wish all of our fathers, grandfathers and father figures a fabulous weekend, and a special day for Father's Day on Sunday.
Week 8 Canteen Specials
The week 8 canteen special is spaghettini and lasagne for $3.50.
Athletics Carnival
Despite a deluge of rain before 8am, the sun came out and made for a lovely day to host our athletics carnival. Congratulations to all of the students who took part and made it such a fun day. We loved having all of our families cheering on from the sidelines!
Thank you to our Friends of St Judes (FOSJ) team for organising the coffee van and running the food stall throughout the day.
The winning scores changed a few times throughout the day, with only 6 points separating first, second and third place just before lunch. Congratulations to Petry, who pulled some magic out of the bag after lunch and, with the help of their jumps and throws results, soared ahead to be our 2024 Athletics Carnival winners. Well done, Ethan, on a great speech at the trophy presentations.
Finally, many thanks to our staff, especially Mr White, on co-ordinating a great day!
Happy Birthday to the following students who have recently celebrated their special day!

Sehaj (4)
Cindy (4)

Athletics Carnival
Congratulations Petry on winning the 2024 Athletics Carnival!
Thank you to the teachers for making it a fun day.
CEWA Child Safe Framework
Have you heard of the CEWA Child Safe Framework?
Over the term we have looked at the 3 key concepts that underpin the CEWA Child Safe Framework and the nine elements that combined, help us to make decisions surrounding child safety in the school.
In the coming weeks, we will unpack one of these nine elements each week and how St Jude's ensures that each element is being addressed.
This week's focus is:
Culture
All members of the school community share responsibility for, and actively promote an environment that prioritises the best interests of children and young people
What does this look like?
- All members of our school community (parents, teachers and students):
- Prioritise the best interests of children in all decision making
- Feel confident starting conversations about any concerns or worries, and know how to do this
- Are invited to participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of child safe policies and procedures in our school
At St Jude's we:
- Conduct a 'Culture Survey' every few years to gather data from students, parents and staff to inform future decision making
- Have developed a Community Code of Conduct for our staff, parents and visitors to our school to ensure the safety of our students
- Have a whole school 'Behaviour Management Procedure'
- Have consulted with Behaviour Tonics to implement the 1, 2, 3 Magic and Emotion Coaching as a strategy to maintain consistency across the school when managing behaviours
- Use the 'Making Jesus Real' programme to foster a culture of belonging/hospitality and respect for others
- Teach students protective strategies through the 'Keeping Safe' Curriculum
- Complete annual 'Mandatory Reporting Training' (Staff and regular volunteers to our school)
- Discuss a different Code of Conduct statement at each School Advisory Council (SAC) Meeting and what it means for parents and community visitors (this is published in our newsletters regularly)
- Have developed a 'Complaints Process' for student and parents
Happy Father's Day on Sunday to all of our fathers, grandfathers and father figures!
