A Moment With Ms O'Donnnell
Dear Attea Families,
Is summer flying fast? Attea’s construction is moving as well! Our building will have new paint, flooring, lighting, and interactive TV monitors for all 2nd and 3rd floor classrooms. We will also have air conditioning in the Gym and monitors to assist with teaching and learning in our amazing instructional spaces.
Your administrative team has been busy scheduling all our students for the 24-25 school years and planning events throughout the school year. We are looking forward to August with our first two events. We will hold a New to District 34 Family Gathering at Attea: Bits and BItes on Tuesday, August 13th at 5 pm @ Attea immediately following our D34 Community Connect Resource Fair. Our all-school Back to School Open House for students will be Friday, August 16th, from 1-3 pm.
I hope you have a good rest of your summer! See you all in August!
Go Flyers!

Coming to D34 in 2024-2025….THE PATHWAYS to the SEAL of BILITERACY!
What is the **NEW** Pathways to Biliteracy Award at Glenview D34?
The Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in English and another language. The seal is added to their high school transcript and diploma. This is the official award that shows biliteracy, earns college credits, and can be used on resumes and for future work endeavors.
Glenview D34 will present a Pathways to Biliteracy Award to graduating eighth graders on track to earn the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy. The Pathways to Biliteracy award indicates that the student is on the pathway to earn the award at the high school level and should continue their work towards the official Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy.
Middle school students with strengths in speaking, reading, writing, and listening to either Spanish, French or Mongolian will have the opportunity to follow the Biliteracy Pathway to earn an award in 8th grade and then go on to earn the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy upon graduating high school.
Informational family sessions will be held on September 12, the evening of Curriculum Night. Sessions will be held at both Attea and Springman half an hour before Curriculum Night. If you are not able to attend on September 12, we will hold an additional meeting via Zoom on September 24 6:00-6:30 pm. We invite you to learn more about this opportunity.
