Falcon Flyer for Families!
April 22-26, 2024
Falcon Families,
Wow, time flies! It's hard to believe that this year is almost over. We only have about 6 weeks remaining to the school year before end of the year events. Make sure that you are working hard to finish Quarter 4 strong, ask your teachers for help, and listen carefully as testing season is around the corner in May.
We have many events next week, including the Night of the Arts and a parent information night for current 7th graders regarding the 8th grade Washington, DC trip next year. Make sure to check your calendar and save the dates!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

RHSEF and 100% RHS!
This year, Sullivan Middle School is extremely thankful for grants from the Rock Hill Schools Education Foundation and 100% RHS! Through RHSEF, SMS has received $1000 in school uniform donations for kids in need, and Dr. Cordoba and Ms. Julio received $4000 to help with their "Rock Hill Goes Global" project. Last, 100% RHS gave SMS a mini-grant this year for "mindfulness coloring" books and markers in the lunchroom. Thanks so much to these awesome community partners for their support!
Talented Teachers!
Ms. Statzer!
"I am a second-year teacher from Cleveland, Ohio! I graduated from Miami University and moved here 2 years ago. At Sullivan I teach 8th grade English, coach the Heart & Sole running club, and host the Catching Fire book club. I love being an 8th grade teacher because you get to see your students grow so much and I am proud to send them off to high school at the end of the year. My favorite part about teaching is the relationships I get to build with our students! I think they are just absolutely hilarious and equally brilliant."
Ms. Burnett!
"According to my parents, I was singing before I was speaking. I came from a musical family, and I always knew I wanted to do something that involved the arts. Combining my love music and children was the perfect combination for me becoming a choral director. I am deeply passionate about nurturing the musical talents and enriching the lives of my students. I strive daily to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore their voices and express themselves through music. I truly love my job!"
