PD Monday this week! We will meet in the conference room, we are short some tables because of the Smiles for Students Program, but we have plenty of chairs and will kick off with Deputy Miller doing a safety training for us. Those of you who signed up for the De-escalation/CPI training it will be at the Admin Building.
We have a busy week this week! The Ned Show on Wednesday and FocusedKids training on Thursday for and 2nd and 3rd grade classes and Drake. (Schedule will be shared.) 5th Grade Field Trip to Lost Lake on Friday.

Annual Benefits Enrollment Meeting
Garfield County School District 16 Staff, our annual Section 125 Enrollment with American Fidelity will be taking place next week! All employees must meet with our Benefit Enrollment Reps. They will be at BUE 9/24-9/25. Please use the following link to enroll for a time that best works with your school schedule. https://enroll.americanfidelity.com/D732AF45
IRS Code - Section 125 is what gives our School District the ability to deduct your premiums from your paycheck on a Pre-Tax basis to pay for insurance benefits (such as Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, FSA Accounts, HSA account and other qualified Supplemental Insurance Policies). We have each staff member complete enrollment with an American Fidelity Account Manager every year to review and complete this enrollment process.
We need all staff to schedule a meeting with American Fidelity to:
- Complete your Section 125 Enrollment, allowing our school district to deduct qualified insurance premiums out of your paycheck on a pre-tax basis.
- If you’re in your Highest Average Salary Years (HAS) with PERA, make sure to talk to our Account Manager about how this impacts your PERA Includable Salary.
- Review tax savings accounts and supplemental coverages offered by American Fidelity. You are not required to enroll in any American Fidelity products, but the representatives will quickly review to make sure you know what coverage you do or do not have.
Kiwanis K-Kids Opportunity!!
K-Kids is a Kiwanis Leadership Program for Elementary age students. Club members work to improve their school and their communities.
We are looking for a teacher to run this program. Please come see Scott for more information if you are interested, there is a stipend for your time.
