We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer break. All the best to our 8th graders moving on to high school. For those returning in the fall, we will begin sharing information in mid-July that will help everyone prepare for the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year.

Summer Math Acceleration - Invitation Only
Summer math acceleration invitations went out this week to students who qualify. This was for students qualifying for Algebra 1 Honors in 7th grade (L5 FAST Math) , as well as students moving from 6th standard to 7th Advanced (L3+ FAST Math), and for students qualified to move from 7th standard to Algebra 1 Honors in 8th grade (L4 FAST Math).
Students were selected based on performance in their current math course (A’s for Algebra 1 Honors in 7th and A’s and B’s for others), as well as their success on previous state math assessments.
Because of the jump to the accelerated-levels students will miss exposure to some important math benchmarks, therefore students must participate in a summer acceleration program comprised of several modules designed to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful in the upcoming accelerated math course work. Eligible students can expect to spend 15-25 hours completing the online modules, and their work will be monitored by district math specialists.
If your child did not bring home an invitation, and you would like your child to have this opportunity, please fill out a course review at the link below by May 31st to see if he or she qualifies. The summer session officially begins on June 3rd, so students taking the course must be enrolled by that date to participate.

Re: St. Johns County Teen Court Program
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming relaunch of the St. Johns County Teen Court Program scheduled to begin in August 2026. This program provides students with a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore the legal system, develop public speaking skills, and engage directly with the criminal justice process.
All program participants in Teen Court are students who serve as attorneys, jurors, clerks, and bailiffs in real-life criminal cases involving their peers. The program promotes restorative justice while offering an invaluable learning experience. All participants will be given community service hours for the time dedicated to the program. The only adults involved our court staff to organize and the judge who is a local attorney.
Training sessions will be held during summer break to prepare participants for their roles. These interactive sessions will provide foundational legal knowledge, courtroom procedures, and mentorship from professionals in the legal field. We would love for your students to be a part of this impactful program. Please consider sharing this opportunity with interested students, parents, and faculty. For those interested in participating, please have them apply using the following link: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/stjohnsclerk/jobs/4933398/teen-court-volunteer.
This program is available to middle and high school students. Any school can participate, including those from other areas who do not have access to a local Teen Court program
We look forward to working together! If you have any questions or would like to discuss a presentation at your school, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you!

D(b)ad Joke(s) of the Week
It's easy to convince moms not to eat Tide Pods, but it's harder to deter gents.
How does a salad say grace? Lettuce pray.
What country's capital is growing the fastest? Ireland. Every day it's Dublin.
Lately, people have been making apocolypse jokes like there's no tomorrow.
(And last, but not least.)
Poop jokes aren't my favorite jokes, but they're a solid number two 😁
