It's All In Your Perspective
I came across this picture this week and thought it was quite interesting. The caption was exactly correct. Initially, when I looked at it, all the plates were upside down. But when I found the one that wasn't, now all the plates were right side up! Honestly, it was a little freaky! However, it got me to thinking about how applicable this picture really is to how we approach each day. It is all about how we view things and our perspective. Our prespective actually determines our attutide. It influences how we react and how we face the challenges of each day. Do we look at challenges as opportunities or simply just challenges? Do we face each day with a positive outlook or anticipate the negative? Is the glass half full or half empty? You see, our perspective changes everything, but more than anything, it impacts how we see and react to things around us. I came across the statement below and I thought it expressed the impact of perspective very well:
“Perspective makes all the difference. It’s not what you look at; it’s what you see… Remember that the sun never actually sets; it's our perspective that makes it appear to. Our sunset is another’s sunrise. It's all perspective. How would your life be different if you applied this truth to the things that cause you stress? Letting go isn’t about erasing the past; it’s about looking at the same event and seeing something different. Activate this power in your life! Take the pain and poison of the past and allow it to nourish a new found wisdom. Remember, you can't change the past, but you can change the labels you place on events. Perspective - it’s not what you look at; it’s what you see.” (Steve Mariboli)
I challenge you this week to evaluate your own perspective. What do you see?

Let's Celebrate Constitution Day!
Each year, September 17th is recognized as the ratification of the U. S. Constitution in 1787. The purpose of this day is to promote civic education and to study the U. S. Constitution. What a great opportunity to engage your students in some great learning activites about our government and constitution. Below I have shared some websites with great ideas. I'd love to see what you are doing in your classrooms to celebrate Constitution Day so please share pictures with me!

How to Schedule an Appointment on the Peehip Online Calendar
Go to website: https://dph1.adph.state.al.us/PublicCal/
1. Go to dropdown list of counties: select your county, then click on the filter tab
2. If you know the date of your school clinic, please type in the date of your school clinic in the “Date From and Date To” – this will ensure that the calendar will only pull up for your county and for that particular date.
3. If you only select the desired county from the dropdown list and click “Search for Events”, then it will pull up all clinics for desired county for current month.
4. When you see your desired clinic location, click on “Schedule an Appointment” tab.
5. You will see listing of times available – if you see a green checkmark, then appointments are available for this time slot. Under “Available Openings” you will see how many appointment slots are available for that time slot.
6. If you see a red checkmark – that means that all appointments for that time slot are full.
7. Please put in your personal data to schedule the appointment.
8. It is always best to send yourself appointment confirmation by either email or text.
