Annual Meeting Features Budget Information
The West Bend School District Annual Meeting and Budget Hearing will take place on Monday, September 23 at the Silver Lining Arts Center at the high schools. Residents can begin check-in and verification of residency (please bring a state-issued ID for proof of residency) at 6 p.m. The budget hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. and the annual meeting at 7 p.m.
The meeting is held each year to inform the community of estimated financial information for the 2024-2025 fiscal year to allow for awareness prior to the West Bend School board completing the budget in October.
Assessment Schedule is in Handbook
With some STAR testing beginning this week, families can review the West Bend Student and Family Handbook 2024-2025 for a schedule of all WBSD and state assessments for the school year.
The primary role of assessments in each child’s education is to drive the teaching and learning process. Using data from the assessments, teachers can determine if a student has met the learning target and then can adjust the instruction to meet the students’ needs.
Immunizations Updated by State
The State of Wisconsin has recently updated its immunization recommendations to align with national recommendations. The changes include:
Meningococcal Vaccine: For students entering 7th grade, with a booster for those entering 12th grade.
Chickenpox Vaccine: A health care provider's diagnosis for exemption from the chickenpox vaccine is needed, rather than a parent's report.
Health room professionals will reach out to the family if an update needs to be made for specific students. Please note: An immunization waiver for medical, religious, or personal reasons is available from your health room professional.
Please contact your health room professional with questions.
