Dr. Barker's Message
Good Evening Everyone!
This has been a wonderful weekend. I want to begin by thanking Ms. McGregor, Mr. Vernon, all the Student Council Officers, volunteers, and staff chaperones for putting together another amazing Homecoming Dance! Thank you and Well Done!
Last week we were informed that we have one additional National Merit Semifinalist:
National Merit Semifinalist - Mei Satler
Congratulations to Mei and her family on this accomplishment!
In addition, this week we were also provided with the names of our WEST National Merit Commended Students - Drew Keenan and Isabelle Orosco. Congratulations to Drew and Isabelle and their families on this recognition!
Mid-Marks
It is hard to believe, but Wednesday is the midpoint of the first marking period. Students - remember to take advantage of the opportunity to see your teachers during Lunch & Learn to get extra help, ask questions, or make up missed work. Teachers are available everyday for assistance and are looking forward to meeting with you. Remember to work hard and start the year off well academically!
Have a great week WEST!
Kurt Barker, Ed.D.
Principal, DHS WEST

We continue to work with the contractors to complete the final portions of the project and we look forward to wrapping up punch list items by the end of the month. Once everything is complete we plan to hold an open house to welcome the community to come see the finished project.
