November 25, 2024
Dear Families,
As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude for your ongoing support of your students and our staff. Together, we create a community that empowers and inspires our students.
May your holiday be filled with joy, gratitude, and family.
Please remember we are out on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. Students also have off on Monday, December 2nd as teachers finish up grades for Trimester 1 and get ready for Trimester 2.
Have an AWESOME week!!

Winter Weather - eLearning Plan
Though it may seem like a long way off, winter is just around the corner. As we do every year, we want to share our eLearning Plan with families so we are ready for whatever our Minnesota weather has in store for us. Please review the two slides below. We will also spend time starting next week periodically reviewing this with students so they know what to expect. When all else fails, we tell the students to Look to Google Classroom. Our students have gotten to the point that they know if they look in Google Classroom all the things they need for class every day are there, that doesn't really change for eLearning.
Winter Sports Registration
October is registration season for winter sports and activities. We hope every student will find their place with a club, sport, service group, or leadership activity this year. Winter Sports information can be found here at this link. Please use our online portal to register, and remember a sports physical needs to be updated every three years.
Check Skyward Family Access to see if your physical is current and on file.
Read registration instructions, eligibility, and fee information carefully.
Complete your registration online.
Pay Fees through the registration process.
Complete the Educational Benefits Form to reduce fees (through Food Service). If you qualify, send the free/reduced lunch determination letter to your child’s school to have the fee adjusted.
Mark your calendars for the first day of practice.
We have more clubs and activities that meet throughout the year. Activities are a great way to get connected, explore interests, and learn teamwork, responsibility, and self-discipline. Check out the Community Education page for more information.

Emergency Response - Repeat
In the event of an emergency, our schools have comprehensive emergency response plans in place to protect our students, staff, and visitors. These plans are regularly reviewed and updated to align with best practices and local emergency management guidelines. Students and staff will participate in emergency drills throughout the year to teach safety response procedures. We practice drills for fire, tornado, and lockdown throughout the year. We teach situational awareness and practice drills in an age-appropriate manner.
The I Love U Guys Foundation has put together an explanation for parents about the Standard Response Protocols. If you receive questions from parents, please feel free to share with them this handout. You could also have it available as a handout at open houses.

IMPORTANT - By law, students will be excluded 30 days after the start of school, which means if students do not have current immunizations or a conscientious objection on file, they will not be able to attend school after October 16, 2024.
