Note from the Principal...
This week, we wrap up September and Respect month from Character Strong. We’re excited to welcome October and our new theme of Responsibility! This month, we’ll focus on what it means to be responsible at school. Being on time and ready to learn are habits that are crucial for student success! Our teachers will be reaching out if they notice attendance patterns because we genuinely care. Attendance has one of the highest correlations with student success in school.
October also brings Parent-Teacher Conferences, a great opportunity to strengthen our partnerships. I encourage you to connect with your child’s teachers beforehand—whether through a phone call, email, or a note. Share what’s going well, your goals, and any questions you might have. This proactive communication can make conferences more productive and comfortable.
At Grove, we believe that building strong relationships is part of our responsibility. Remember, reaching out early and often can make a big difference! Lastly, don’t forget to check out the section below on signing up for conferences. We truly hope to see every Grove family there!
Parent Teacher Conferences
Fall parent teacher conferences will take place on Wednesday, October 16th from 3:30-7:30 PM and Thursday, October 17th from 1:00-7:00 PM (Thursday, 10/17 and Friday, 10/18 are non-attendance days for students). We will utilize the online booking tool, Meet the Teacher, as we have done in the past. Registration will open on Monday, September 30th at 8:00 AM. Registration will close at the end of the day on October 8th. We look forward to meeting with all of our parents over the course of the two days.

When parents log on to Meet the Teacher, they will be able to sign-up for conferences for multiple children and for any staff member that works with their child. Conferences with specials teachers are not required but are an option we are offering to parents. In addition, all related services staff members will be available to meet with parents. As a result, parents can also schedule conference times with our Social Worker, Speech and Language Pathologist, Reading Resource Teachers, English Learner Teacher, Special Education Resource Teachers, and our Extended Teacher. It is highly recommended that parents meet with any related service staff member who works with their child.
Please be sure to plan accordingly in order to attend conferences during the days that have been designated by the district for teachers to meet with parents. This is valuable time to discuss the individual growth and skills of your child, as well as, work together with the teacher to plan and set goals toward your child’s individual progress.

Math Enrichment at Home
Parents often ask how they can support and enrich their math learners at home! One idea is math enrichment. Through activities such as problem solving journals, collaborative problems, real-life math, and meta math talks, we can support our learners outside of the classroom!
